John and I have been married now for 35 years...we have three beautiful daughters...Amy, Jessica and Amanda. We have lived in Washington for 25 years now...we are involved in both home fellowships and a small local church....I volunteer at the Healing Center on Wednesday evenings..it is open to the community....we are healthy and blessed and growing in the things of God day by day....we look forward to hearing from our beloved Way Corps brothers and sisters, especially any from the 4th corps, 5th corps, first family corps (at headquarters ) or those in the first years of Way Builders....we treasure the precious friends we knew in the years of our involvement in the Way, and praise Him for all the wonderful people we've met since that time....we most certainly do have a Great Big Wonderful God!!
My Interests
I love to go for walks....especially by the water, or along the beautiful trails nearby...I very much enjoy the company of friends and family.....I love to play games and watch good movies....I love to sing and dance (the kitchen is my dance floor)....I used to sing in a choir...I enjoy "playing" with lettering...some basic calligraphy, and fun printing styles....I have done a little bit in the area of watercolor and colored pencils and pastels....mostly on cards or in small frames....I also took some classes in percussion....I learned the basics of conga and jembe drumming, and got familiar with some of the hand instruments....I've been known to "play around" with these during the worship service at church! (and in the kitchen, of course!!) I really look forward to hearing from some of the sweet people from the past.....You are very dear and precious to both myself and to John. Life has not been easy, but I'm glad I'm still on the journey...God Bless You.
Employment or Career
I have just begun a new job at a store called "Trader Joes"...it is a "specialty food store" rather than a regular super market....they are primarily on the West Coast, but have begun to open up some stores in the East and a few other spots...I was a stay-at-home Mom for many years....I did some little jobs here and there, but was at home for the most part....I did teach at my youngest daughters school for 6 l/2 years...it was a Cooperative Christian School....I taught Kindergarden thru 3rd grade students...I love working with children. Anyhow, now I am at Trader Joes...I work part time and enjoy it very much.
Music I Like
I have loved music since I was a little girl....I grew up on Rogers and Hammersteins show tunes, and Nat King Cole,Frank Sinatra, and , oh yes, Motown!!! I was not a big Christian music fan when in the ministry...I loved Joyful Noise, of course, and Branded, etc... But now, I have grown to love many of the great songs and artists in the Christian world today....I learned many songs when I sang in the Choir for seven years, and I seem to be the one to lead worship at the home fellowships we're involved in....So, I do listen to my favorite Christian artists the most, but love some of the contemporary musicians of today, and of the past, as well..
Books I Like
I love anything by Philip Yancey....love Beth Moore....Have discovered a delightful writer in Francine Rivers.....John and I are both "book people"...we have a hundred million (slight exaggeration) books .... many research works, many versions of the Bible (The greatest book of all time!!!)....and most of the books we own and have read over the years are connected to our on-going search for truth, light and life.....wisdom and understanding....
Television I like
Not much on these days....finally got cable about a year ago....love the food network and the home network....love good old movies and the Cosby Show....enjoy Law and Order and 24....have fun with some of the game shows now and then....John loves antiques roadshow and the history channel, etc.
Movies I like
My Big Fat Greek Wedding...I think this is my favorite comedy...I like movies that have some "substance" most of all....true stories....of courage, love, hope, etc.....Freedom Writers is another favorite....Dancing Movies, too....and some great Musicals....Enjoyed Lord of the Rings series with John and the girls....so many movies, so little time!!
Sports Teams I like
Well, we gotta root for the Mariners baseball team, and the Seattle Seahawks!! and the Sonics basketball team too!!
Comments
I just read this today. Jane was a true sister in Christ, to me. She loved and believed in me. Now I can hope to see her again for all eternity, and we will know as we are known and we will see Christ face to face and be like him.
Much love and comfort from my heart to yours as we wait for his return.

Beloved Wife, Mother, Sister and great friend to many. Jane Guthrie, born in S.F., CA, having lived for 26 years in Kirkland, WA, passed away after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Spending most of her years as a homemaker, she was a Mama at heart to many and deeply touched the lives of those privileged to know her.
Jane loved the ocean, taking the scenic route, singing and dancing in her kitchen, playing games, laughter and heartfelt conversations. She had a way of making people feel loved and comforted, and she brought God’s love and healing to so many. She was a woman of wisdom and mercy.
We all miss her deeply, but are comforted in knowing she is now in the care of her Lord Jesus. Jane is survived by her husband John; her three daughters, Amy (Phil Sudore), Jessica and Amanda; and two sisters Patricia (Rich) and Judith (Steve).
A Memorial Service will be held on Sat. Nov. 8th, 12:30 pm, at Chapel of the Resurrection Funeral Home (located on the grounds of Cedar Park Church), 16300 – 112th Ave. NE, Bothell, WA 98011.
