  • John and girls,

I just read this today. Jane was a true sister in Christ, to me. She loved and believed in me. Now I can hope to see her again for all eternity, and we will know as we are known and we will see Christ face to face and be like him.

Much love and comfort from my heart to yours as we wait for his return.

  • Jane Marie GUTHRIE

    Aug. 21, 1946—Oct. 23, 2008

Beloved Wife, Mother, Sister and great friend to many. Jane Guthrie, born in S.F., CA, having lived for 26 years in Kirkland, WA, passed away after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Spending most of her years as a homemaker, she was a Mama at heart to many and deeply touched the lives of those privileged to know her.

Jane loved the ocean, taking the scenic route, singing and dancing in her kitchen, playing games, laughter and heartfelt conversations. She had a way of making people feel loved and comforted, and she brought God’s love and healing to so many. She was a woman of wisdom and mercy.

We all miss her deeply, but are comforted in knowing she is now in the care of her Lord Jesus. Jane is survived by her husband John; her three daughters, Amy (Phil Sudore), Jessica and Amanda; and two sisters Patricia (Rich) and Judith (Steve).

A Memorial Service will be held on Sat. Nov. 8th, 12:30 pm, at Chapel of the Resurrection Funeral Home (located on the grounds of Cedar Park Church), 16300 – 112th Ave. NE, Bothell, WA 98011.
  • Our sincerest condolences to the Guthrie family. Jane was loved by many as evidenced by all here comments here on here page. She will be deeply missed. I am glad she had the time on this site to reconnect with some of those loved ones from the past. Please let us know if there is anything we can do.

  • Dear LewEllyn, Thanks for the reply...yes, we were in Iowa l978-l980....we lived in Cedar Rapids, and oversaw the state at that time...were you a WOW then? Time sure does fly, doesn't it...Hope all is well in your life...John and I have lived in WA. for 25 years....we still run a small home fellowship every other week, and he teaches at another once a month...we attend a local church, and are very blessed to be a part of His awesome, huge body....Blessings to you. Jane
  • Jane--I've got to say I was trying to remember where myself. My memory has always been vague--High school reunions are agony. I think it was Maryland. Does that sound right? Here's where I've been: Took the class in Annapolis Maryland in 1976, and was there on the Eastern Shore periodically for a couple of years while going to school in New Mexico, then I went to Iowa 1978-1981, back home to Georgia 1981-84, Way College of emporia 1984-85, Staff at HQ 1985-95, then Cincinnatti, Charlotte NC, West Virginia etc. etc. I think it was way back, though, in Maryland or Iowa. I remember you both so clearly, it's just the geography and timeline that escape me. Sorry. Anyway good to hear from you.
  • Hi, Jane. Love to you and John. Hope you remember me--it's been so long, but you and John were so wonderful to me. Was I LewEllyn Finch then, or Viner? Can't remember, but I love you both!
  • Hey, lady! It's about time for another girlie movie, don't you think? Love you!
