Employment or Career
I am gradually working towards my BA, majoring in History and English literature as an on-and-off part-time student.
In the past I have been employed in the following jobs: fruit shop assistant, waitress, Arnotts Biscuits factory worker (biscuits = cookies), Hoyts candy bar attendant, legal secretary, McDonalds front-counter (are you impressed?), student nurse, nurses aide, customer service at St George Bank: loans and enquiries, motel house-maid, cocktail waitress, house-cleaner (for Dial-an-Angel), Telecom NZ faults centre officer, bookkeeper, and self-employed office manager for high-rise window-cleaning business (the latter for about 13 years.) I resigned from my full-time job in administration at the University of Queensland to study and complete my Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Literature and History.

In answer to your question, I am doing great. However, I received a message from Terri (Schock) Wilson yesterday which was not so good. I see your name is not on the list it went out to, so I will paste it here.
I am so sad to let you know that Arild Mikko Funderud (15th and 16th
Corps) fell asleep in Christ on October 1, 2009. A memorial service will
be held in the Williamsburg VA area on October 24 or 25 -- details are
not yet complete. To share memories of Arild and/or send
condolences to his family, go to
www.wilmingtonburialandcremation.com . His wife, Judy, has a page
on this website, or you may also contact me or Peggy DePasquale on
this site. Thank you for your prayers for the family.
Many of us were with Kai and Mikko for several years, both GREAT
men!!
He was also International Corps, in residence the same time you were.
I thought you would like to know.
God Bless you.
Tom K.
I declare war on you!
Thanks and love- Hayward
I like the Van Morrison
I'm majoring in Anthropology at New Mexico State University. I'm a senior now. Not really sure how many more credits I need. This semester I'm taking Intro to Archeology and Physical Anthropology. I really enjoy learning about how different people live around the world. Opens us your mind.
Glad to hear you're going back to school too. It's easier to negotiate when you've had some life experience. My teachers are about my age so they feel like peers. Most of my friends are professors. It's easier to be organized and figure out situations too.
Peter teaches graphic design at NMSU. He teaches design principles rather than software. Right now he's writing a book on sustainability and design. He's was in Australia for a conference a few years back-not sure which city, and some relatives down there.
I rake gravel (it is the southwest) now instead of leaves.

My boys (15 and 16) and daugher (21) and I are planning to come to Australia already next year. Would love to come by and say hello. You have some great kids too I see :-)
I am leaving for the States on vacation for 3 weeks this coming wed; going to California and Florida at least, so that will be fun.
Talk to you soon
Love
Tom
...yeah, life is good here too. I enjoy seeing God work and see it most often in my marriage and my business.
He's just seen me through one of the most difficult two year periods of my life after two very close deaths -- and the coolest thing was He was talking to me -a lot- especially during my worse times. But I spent a lot of time asking and listening, not always the case.
Probably was easy because I was in such need and one thing I know is that there is no other real help but from God. Learned that on a most wretched WOW year way back when.
But all those seasons are past and a new one is at hand. I'm trying to continue to lay STILL several times a week and listen and discern... but I have been going to ballgames and we (local team) have won the 1st round playoffs just last night! First time in 4 years.
Lots of things to say...guess I should go to private email! Write anytime.
I WILL see you - in Australia or in the air :) Your sister, Debra
