Romeo. It was Tequila Sunrise, the only Eagles song I knew all the words to at the time. It was cool that Henry Kenyon followed on bass by watching me play, even though he wasn't familiar w/the song. Even cooler was their guitar player filling in all the lead guitar parts and backup vocals. Someone in our Corps group told me they heard us outside or something and thought it was the Eagles on the house sound system. Can't remember who said it, but sure is a fond memory.
Yea, sad about Tom Petty, loved so much of his work. Would like a hard copy of his 2010 release "MOJO", got some great blues based stuff on it.
The guy died way too young, maybe he should have spent time w/Keith Richards and picked up pointers huh?
Hey if you would like, check out a YouTube video of my daughter Emily in a music video with "Shy Beast". Her friend Mary Claire is the lead singer and she and other friends are performing dance in it. Emily is on the right front after the song starts. It's well produced. The song is titled
"Back to me"
Oh yea, I remember that miserable trek across the midwest, missing our turn-off in the back of that pickup asleep. If that wasn't bad enough, getting sent back to Emporia because we missed our arrival deadline!
Sorry I haven't contacted you. We've been really busy with life and taking care our son David who has muscular dystrophy. Marie is his full-time caretaker.
I have managed to play in a band now and then. Was playing in a Chicago blues band here locally. These guys were all transplants from there. Met some good musicians here, got to play with Charlie Robeson's lead guitarist and his bass player. Lately, haven't had much time for extra activity.
Noticed the pictures of you playing some gigs. Still playing?
Hey Romeo! Been a long time since our 1st year in the Corps and that band we played in, remember RickCox, and Jim Cali? Better yet, remember sitting in on that country rock band's equipment and playing during intermission at that bar near Gunnison?
love the pics! You still look great.
Marie and I have lived in Austin Tx for the last 21 years. Met a lot of famous musicians here. I was at a bar in downtown Austin when Ian McLagan was playing happy hour andRobert Plant and Patti Griffin walked in. Have only recently used this website, hope you're still checking in....
Hey, I like being called "kid," keep it up! Good to see you on here. Hope all is well in your neck of the woods, we're having great weather! I'm going two-steppin' tonight, boys are at summer camp. Sure do grow up fast. Good to hear from you!
Yo Romeo!
I miss you! I have forgotten about so many people from the former years. I saw you on Lisa Iozzo's page. We had known her before we moved to Issaquah. I always enjoyed you and those folks in OR. Debbie and I are hoping to visit Michael and MJ sometime this Summer. I hope all is well with you.
Sincerely,
Jeff

Romeo,
I don't remember what was a breath of fresh air in the context of my comment. Sorry, I can't recall what we were talking about at the time. Sorry.

Well, enough for now, John
Just an addendum, Was it Gunnison or Emporia that we arrived late and got sent Back? Or were there two different trips? Refresh my memory!
