Muncie Indiana
About Me
After the "fog" began, around '88 for me, I moved back to Muncie Indiana following a divorce, career change, and death or my father. I became a CFP with Ameriprise, my Dad's company, where I retired from this year. I have two wonderful kids, Wes in Austin, Christy in Bristol Virginia, 1 new 3 month old grandson in Austin, and a granddaughter on the way in Bristol. Would love to hear from any Corps brothers and sisters.
My Interests
Doing absolutely nothing, no schedules, no commitments, appointments, goals, been there, done that, taking a break!! Awwww, retirement!
Just like I was in the Corps, guys, I'm a music nut, always wanted to play more than my natural talent allowed! My son gave me a mandolin 6 years ago, and life hasn't been the same since, as it consumed me, and still does.
Employment or Career
Over 30 years in the financial services business, managing other peoples money, and doing it quite well in retrospect. But life happened, the industry changed, the passion was gone, and God kicked me so hard to get out, the time couldn't have been clearer.
Music I Like
Americana. I began the Ameriprise Financial Annual Bluegrass and Ribfest for my clients, bringing in top talent like The Grascals, Claire Lynch, and Alsion Brown, all entertainers of the year or grammy winners. I began a tradition 9 years ago, father son weekend is Austin City Limits Music Festival and father/daughter weekend is Merlefest in North Wilksboro, NC. That one's especially dear to my heart, as it's named after Doc Watson's son Merle, whom I first heard as a WOW in Little Rock, Arkansas in 73.
Books I Like
Always have a few going, reading D'nesh D'Souza's America, just finished Stop Helping US, The Strain, Im a right wing, gun loving, flag waving, Fox News watching, wing nut, Ted Nugent, radical, moderate. I recall Wierwille claiming politics and religion the two cruelest subjects to discuss, man, he had no idea!
Television I like
History and Military channels, Discovery, haven't turned on major networks in years, and raised my kids on the Food Network. BAM!!!!
Sports Teams I like
I love the Indianapolis Colts basketball team.

Hi Bob. I just read your profile. Congratulations on your success in life. And I think you know what I mean when I say "success". It made me happy to read it and to see smiling faces of you and your family. At our ages I think we are beginning to see what is really important in life. Family is one of them in my opinion.
I too, found myself consumed in business for decades due to a tiny business I started here when we graduated from the 7th Corps. That thing grew into a good size and successful one with 60 employees. Had enough by 2007 and sold it to a pretty big company and am semi-retired. I have not been able to bring myself to use the "R-etirement" word yet because I am always getting myself involved in something. :) But yeah....its nice to be unburdened by the business world. I can only speak for myself though.
Anyway this page is not about me. It's about you and I am happy for you.
I am still here....on my original "assignment" I guess since 1979! Ha, ha. Maybe I hold the record for being in the same "area" longer than anybody from our 7th Corps group.
But really...I just like Florida so I stayed! Now let me ask you retirement specialists.....where does person from Florida retire to? Ha, ha?
Hello Bob Lunsford - nice to see your name and pictures after all these years. So you worked as a CFP for Ameriprise! Good for you - I am doing the same, just have not retired yet. (After all - there is no heavy lifting!). Anyway, congratulations on your retirement and welcome to this site. Perhaps we will see each other face to face before we see the Lord face to face.
Welcome brother
Hello Bob. Sorry I took so long. I was occupied with a work project. It's great to see your name again. It was fun being in the 7th Corps with you all those years ago.
Welcome to the Way Corps Site! It has been a lot of fun for many of us, even if only visiting once in a while. There are over 1,670 members registered here. It is a good format for staying in touch and remembering some of our fun times in The Way Corps such as this photo might illustrate.
You will find a cross section of many people from many different Corps groups ranging from Way Corps 1 to Way Corps 40. There is a search feature that will allow you to find people easily. We have a lot of fun content to look over from or varied past.
Here is a welcome letter I wrote when I started this site some 6 years ago.
Let me know if I can help you with anything or answer any questions. I hope you enjoy this site.
