  • Hey Rita,
I made it - thanks for inviting me. Sure looking forward to seeing you in the flesh soon. Miss you, dear friend :-)
    Much love - Liz
  • how have things been going rita ? Still seeing that guy or no, If so how is it going for you.
  • Hallelujah Rita! We sure are excited, and thanks for your kind thoughts on the Dining Book. I'd love to see Bob Sorge's stuff....The Lord really is bringing His people together, out of the caves, making one nation. What a time to be alive for Him!!
We love you lots Rita. I'll try to update with more photos. Now we are grandparents too!
    Love in Him,
    --Paul and Rita
  • Sorry, that was a really long message - not just a comment
  • Rita,

I mean you look like a teenager right now. Some people just don't seem to age at all (but you could be right, it might just be my eye sight - which, incidentally is a lot better since having cataract surgery about eight years ago - thank God for my bionic eyes, because I would be blind without them - I was legally blind for a time).

There are several ex-Way staffers that still live in this area, and we have fellowshipped together since the day we left. Most of us have had our kids grow up in the fellowship as well. We simply carried on with the Word, and left the junk out of it. It's been great.

I've also found the Word living and real in other places. I realize that many people will have a few areas that aren't fully accurate, but unless we're talking about devil worship, it's no reason not to love 'em and get along with 'em - especially in areas we agree (like Jesus Christ got up from the dead - duh). I learned a long time ago, it isn't always how much scripture you know, it's how much you believe. Funny, that distinction alone gets you right down to people's hearts in a hurry.

Glad to hear you are still enthusiastic about it and living it. So many folks (including a few on this site) seem to harbor a few ill feelings about the past. The way I look at it: I wouldn't have known the Word the way I do if I hadn't been a part of the Way. And why was it any surprise to anyone that people screwed up? Did they just forget to read their Bibles? A lot of people screwed up.

I was sorry to hear that you and Steve split up. I can't say that I was very close to you guys in the Corps, but personally (pardon me for saying this) I don't see how any guy could leave you, you were (are) one of the sweetest people I know.

Someday when we're trucking about the country, and I get out East, I'll make sure I pack the trunk full of beer - you aren't the only one who wants one (Schiano, Weeks, John Rue). I happen to be enjoying my own "Buckskin Pale Ale" at the moment - a clone of Sierra Necada Pale Ale (not that it would mean anything to you unless you are a beer snob).

So, let me get this right - you don't recognize Ellen in the picture either? I guess she wasn't there. Hell, maybe I ought to ask her - she would know, huh?

Great to hear from you; keep in touch. God Bless.

    Dan
  • Gheeshe Rita, you look like a teenager. So, I'm looking at that 11th Corps photo (wow, so many people), and naturally I'm looking for myself, but I can't tell if it's me! I think I'm standing about two people over your left shoulder, on the outside edge. But Ellen isn't there (was this taken at the Rock of 1983? If it was, then Ellen wasn't there because she just delivered our oldest - remember, she was pregnant atgraduation?). Help me out here; I hope I wasn't missing. Bless!
  • Go Giants indeed! Living in RI, everyone is a Pats fan and it has been very tough :-).

    How are you doing?
  • Sorry I didn't have much time to talk--I was literally going "in" for a test. I am doing much better emotionally now-started "therapy" on Monday and keeping on praying this thing out of my bod! Feeling good physically, too. Still eating. I reallydon't want to lose lbs. Thanks for checking on me. Call anytime. 2 hour time difference (it it earlier here) Love you!
  • Yes, Milltown.
  • So let me get this straight? Christmas day a wonderful 50 degrees enabling you to get all that outside "stuff" done. I likewise had a nice time with my mother and family. Happy New Years
