  • pat--reading your response, i'm not sure how you took what i said. to clarify, it was 1. a compliment and 2. a joke.

of course, you couldn't see me smiling as i wrote it. i tried to get that across with the silly face at the end--maybe it didn't work. hopefully, my explanation will.

    happy thanksgiving!
  • Hey Pat! Your photo looks a little shady -- but I bet you're as bright and beautiful as God made you to be ! I thought I read a comment of yours to someone else where you wrote that you found out who "I AM" (meaning yourself). I've been working on that for years and think that by the time I find out who I am (if I have the guts to know!), I won't be anymore! Anyway, I remember one thing you said when I was in residence (Emporia??). It was something like this: "I don't expect anything from anyone. This way, when they do something stupid (to hurt me, etc.), I won't be disappointed!" I never forgot that and have used it and revised it throughout the past 30 years, realizing the truth regarding UNREALISTIC EXPECTATIONS that we put on others (and ourselves at times) and finding out just about the same thing that Job did eons ago. It sure is great to know we are all in the same boat -- the one that catches no fish until Jesus shows us where to put the net. I love you, Pat. You are honest to the Corps -- corpse? I mean CORE! Yeah, that's it! xxooo rita
  • Pat , I love you and miss you and am super thankful to be in touch with Christine and am super thrilled to have found you here. You were always great to me but I've only known you since 1975 so maybe I've got you all wrong ! haha

  • Waah, Waah. Sorry, but you're not the lone ranger. I too found out that a lot of folks don't like dialogue. Some folks can't say, "Isn't that interesting" and agree to disagree. Others lack self confidence and don't like being challenged or overly religious that they think if one disagrees with his or her theology, they speak for the devil. Oh well. I say keep speaking up and never think you know it all. That's growing up. I love you.

  • you know, pat, thinking back, you DID kinda screw things up for me--you (and john) let me disagree with you without repercussion. which made me think i could do it with other folks. boy, i definitely paid for THAT. ;p
  • we should go and visit that ole reform school like we used to do back in 72.....How are you my dearest Pat? It's been many, many years since we talked or even seen each other.make sure we stay in touch this time! How is Christine? She must be as tall as me by now, and as old. • Hey Pat...I still think of you from my last year in residence. (9th) You guys were great. Lots of good memories...You were funnier than John.

    Love, Lisa
  • Hi Pat,
It's good to see you here. I often reflect on all the wonderful things you taught me before going in the Corps. You were a wonderful example to me of loving people and caring for them no matter what the cost. You always wanted people to have the best and be the best for God. You worked us hard and we played hard. I remember the ski trips for our staff days--what fun! I always remember you believing in me and helping me to grow up and I thank you. I can't think of any other woman that has influenced my life more than you have.

Enjoy your grandchildren--kids grow up too fast! Ours are soon to be 16 and 12 (we were late bloomers having kids!). They are wonderful boys and a great blessing to our lives.
    Love,
    Susie B.
