  • One of the things you taught at one Sunday 10:30 in the Ambassador Room during my time in the 13th Corps still sticks with me ... the phrase from Proverbs was "Let not mercy and truth forsake thee," and you said, "Truth without mercy is half-truth." Don't know why it has stuck with me for so long but it has ... don't know if you even remember me ... I was pretty much a "nobody" in the Corps ... but not to God. I have loved fellowshipping with Mike and Jane Tomberlin since I left the Corps in 1985 ... Mike witnessed to me in 1972, so it was like coming home. Glad to read that you are well.
  • Pat,
With all the confusion after the B-52's leveled the place in 1986, I never had the chance to thank you for your friendship and your wisdom. You were one of the few voices shouting from the crowd "The emperor has no clothes!" So - for being a genuine friend to me and for trusting me even when I probably wasn't worthy of it, you will forever have a special place in my heart.

Thank God the divisions of those goofy days are behind me now, and God has done exceedingly abundantly above all that I could have ever asked or thought. I have more than I ever imagined I would and I am almost overwhelmed sometimes with what God has committed to my trust. And more than that - I'm really enjoying this life and you had a lot to do with that because you helped me way back when.

I'd love to catch up on 23 years with you. Anytime.

    Love,
    Glenn
  • Patty Lou! I love you madly. Hope this finds you happy and healthy.

  • Hi Pat,
I've thought of you often over the years always with fondness. You were very good to me and for me and for that I will always be greatful. I finally married at age 42 to a man I couldn't boss around. : )...That turns out to be a blessing and a curse but we work it out. He had 3 children from a previous marriage and we decided that would be enough. I now have two grandchildren whom I love to death and get to see often. I finally found out what I wanted to be when I grew up. A swimming Instuctor, who knew..... Anyway I work for a medical billing company full time and some evenings and on Sat. I teach kids how to swim. I am a certified Red Cross Water Safety Instructor as of last month and I can't tell you how much I love it. I have learned many things from many different teachers and can say finally I am at peace with God and myself. I try to help people when I can and when I can't I just move on. I don't believe anyone one or any group has all the answers but I do believe God is BIG, LOVING, KIND and forgiving and I am loving life. I am happy you are happy and I love you much...

  • Have wanted to tell you how profoundly our conversation affected me (for the better, he-he). Our good friend doesn't know how to reach you at the present time, so for now, thank you and much love, Marilyn Shirley Our e-mail is rbryce@sbcglobal.net.
  • Just want to say hello. You gave me courage to stand up for myself when you tossed my Lead evaluation in the trash. That courage opened my eyes, helped me to leave, and move on with my life.
    Thank you.

  • Hi Pat! Well my first comment could be misconstrued so I deleted it... I wanted to tell you that the funniest thing I ever saw you do was teach us all in the 9th Corps to iron men's shirts... It was funny to me because there was no way I was considering ever doing such a thing, my first thought was "Man, I gotta get outta here and FAST!". Bless your heart for teaching it but I do not iron my husband's shirts! I do however show my girls how to just in case they want to sometime in the future. And my youngest will iron Dad's shirt for a quarter! The lesson lives on if reluctantly for me! LOL!

I am so blessed you are well. Designing kitchens and taking care of grandchildren sounds like mega fun! love and blessings, Karen :)
