  • Paddy,

God bless. Here are a few lines to keep in touch. I sent you a lengthy comment last week along with the email address of Michael Heron, who has been having difficulty receiving my messages. In my comments which apparently did not saved to your page, I wrote a few words about my short-term mission trip to Los Cabos, Mexico, which was a most remarkable experience. I ministered at a Christian bilingual school, the only one in the entire region. During the past year I have taught language arts and science to middle school students at Sonshine Christian Academy in Columbus. I realize now that the experience of this past year, which has been the most challenging of my 20+ years of teaching, was to prepare me for my missions assignment of two weeks. Once again I see that God's ways are not our ways. . .

One of the many highlights of our two-week adventure in Mexico occurred on my birthday when I shared a brief teaching from the Bible totally in Spanish. I am only moderately competent in Spanish, but my desire to teach the Word of God in a language other than English motivated me to accomplish this longtime goal.

In addition, I traditionally write a poem to celebrate my birthday, and this year I shared the poem with the students in Spanish. One of the members of our team was a high school Spanish teacher who is quite fluent, and she tranlated it for me.

In my previous comments I also mentioned that your book is on my "summer reading list" which seems to get longer each year. It is now a "lifetime reading list" which seems to grow exponentially each year. Yours is at the top of my list. Right now I'm reading THE SEVEN MOUNTAIN PROPHECY by Johnny Enloe, a fascinating look at the seven critical areas of influence in culture and how the Church must arise and take these mountains in a similar way that the Children of Israel were to go in and "possess the land." I've heard this daunting task expressed this way: as believers we must infiltrate, saturate and then dominate" every facet of culture across the globe.

I seem to have gone on and on. . . writing much more than I had intended. Not only that, I haven't even given you Michael Hearn's email address. Here it is: hearns.michael@gmail.com. I sent him your address listed on this page, and I trust that you two "Sons of Erin's sod" will be able to connect.

I trust that you and your family are having a restful yet fruitful summer.

    God's best always,

    Lonnell

  • Received your book and dvd, thankyou .I have already watched the dvd and have started the book , although Im competing with a couple of my kids right now. They are interested also.Hey Paddy shouldnt I be getting some of the credit on the Italian wedding joke? Or did you tell it to me?Anyway I have warned my kids not to take any of the book seriously.Anyone who has a disdain for Man Utd must have some type of inbalance in their logic. Also Paddy I wanted to mention how lovely your daughters are.Have you noticed how odd looking parents have such good looking offspring and vice-versa.Thats why my kids are all butt-ugly.Never mind though life goes on and utd will probably win the european cup again next year. Bob.
  • Thankyou Paddy, here is my address, 1012 california st, Escalon,CA 95320,I look forward to hearing from you, God bless, Bob.
  • Paddy,

Here is quick note to keep in touch. Recently I have been in correspondence with an author who has recently affiliated with the publishing enterprise that I started a few years ago. The couple who published two of my books moved to North Carolina to pursue other endeavors and asked me to oversee those of their authors who would be willing to transfer to Ambassador Press. Michael Hearns, who writes under the name JD McKenzie, is a "son of Erin's sod." I mentioned that I had recently heard from you around the same time that I was trying to contact him. He never received my emails, however. We finally reconnected, and I sent him copies of the previous messages, in one of which I mentioned you and the books you had written. Here are excerpts from my correspondence to him and his to me:

"I see that you are in Ireland, and quite providentially I recently heard from an old friend whom I had not been in contact with for more than twenty-years. He is also a celebrated author, and he sent me a copy of one of his books. Are you familiar with Patrick (Paddy) Heron, author of Apocalypse Soon and The Nephilim and the Pyramid of the Apocalypse? It was quite refreshing to hear from him after all these years. I am looking forward to reading his book on the Nephilim. When I received your recent inquiry, I thought that it was particularly interesting to hear from two Irish authors within a short period of time. I'm not sure what it all means if anything. Nothing is unrelated really."

Michael wrote back to me the following:

    Hi lonnell,

"I received your last E mail and can see that all the previous ones must have got snared in our firewall. But at last we are in contact and I thank you for your time and replies. I have read those books by Patrick Heron but i have never met him. While the background work is from the same source for both of us that is where it ends for Patrick writes from an abstract belief my research work is scientific and very factual. but if you put us in touch then perhaps it would be interesting.

I have continued with the research and have now sent it to Orion Publication in London hoping that they will be interested. Because it has simple arithmetic Biblical scholars will not even read it but yet several eminent mathematicians including Professors of Maths from Trinity College Dublin TCD and Galway University have acknowledged that I have made a discovery. Really, it id the American market I should be aimed at for over here academics are so conservative and are thus too busy to bother. Yet, the discovery is far reaching and reveals that the ancient Hebrews possessed a very sophisticated knowledge of time. Indeed the findings show that they were pre-occupied in mastering time with a view to stop the sun as with Joshua and turn back the clock as with Isaiah so as to overcome death. The difference with this discovery is that I decoded the maths that proves that nit is not just theory and very much factual. It is strange when there is so much argument between the scientific and religious establishments about the creation and none of those people have ever seen the sophisticated mathematics that were left for us by the ancient Hebrews."

I wanted to check with you to see if you are interested in corresponding with Michael. If you are, I will forward him your email address. I wanted to check with you before I sent it.

These are quite exciting times for us all. Recently I published a book written by our older daughter, Melissa, who was born at PFAL '77. It's entitled BRAND ME. MAKE YOUR MARK: TURN PASSION INTO PROFIT. To say that I am proud of her accomplishments, one of which is publishing a book, is an understatement.

Another exciting endeavor for me is a forthcoming short term mission trip to Los Cabos, Mexico, where our Missions Team from our church will be working with a bilingual school in that part of Mexico. I am thrilled to be alive at this time. So much is happening within the Body of Christ, far surpassing the good old glory days of The Way International. I firmly believe that the best is always yet to come, and that the glory of the latter house shall be greater than the glory of the former.

On that hopeful note I'll close. I've written far more than I had originally anticipated.

I look forward to hearing from you, my brother.

    Lonnell
  • Me and Kate were in an Irish bar in Savannah last July and there was a guy from Louth playing guitar and singing Irish ballads. We had had a few beers and next yer man starts singing "Carrickfergus." It brought tears to both our eyes as I could see Mick singing it all those years ago when we used to drink together.

Up to that I han'd grieved that much as I know Michael is saved and I know we all will be spending eternity together. So although I do have sorrow, it's not the same as those who "have no hope." So I am looking forward to seeing him and Ma ,hopefully, very soon.
    Bless for now,
    Paddy
  • Hi Paddy
Thanks for your message. Yes the time is flying but the pain is still great. I don't know if you ever get over the loneliness he was just a great character.

  • Hello Paddy,

It's one of your fellow Corps mates. I received an email from Charles Rix and he told me that you might know the whereabouts and possibly the email address for fellow 11th Corps, Gerry Byrne. We went out on Lightbearer's and became close. I'd love to reconnect with him.

    Also, congrats on your book.

    Cheers,

  • Paddy, We live in a very small town 90 miles due east of Sanfransisco .We have been here since 1996 . Annie and I were married and lived way up north near the Oregon border for a few years, then moved to San Diego started having kids and eventually moved out here.Escalon is a bit dull but is a great place to raise kids.A bit redneck but virtually free of crime. We get back to the UK quite often .Almost made it to Ireland last time. Annie would love to visit there, maybe if we keep in touch we can hookup. Annies twin sis lives near us and she was in Ireland last year and met up with Ellen Fowler.I have not read your book but her brother,Felix Schmidt(6th Corps) has just read it and we were talking about it just recently. He also lives near us, his wife is Jean Skeels(12th Corps). So if you are ever on the west coast dont hesitate to get in touch you are always welcome.Alison Smith is paying us a visit in July, havnt seen her since 1983 so that will be a blast.God Bless, Bob.
