LewEllyn Hallett commented on Michael Schiano's blog post Baby, bathwater, bathtub, shower curtain...
"Hard to believe it's been that long, and interesting to read the comments and see where we were. I've evolved in many ways--new degree, new career, a couple of new homes in a couple of states, and my kids well set on their own paths. But none of us…"

LewEllyn Hallett commented on Peter R. Doliber's blog post Update from 2008
"I hope Peter didn't go. I just caught up belatedly with this blog thread and appreciated his heartfelt post very much. I understood (I think) his purpose, or need to communicate his perspective on time spent in The Way. Sorry to bring this thread…"

LewEllyn Hallett commented on Sarah Wilkinson's blog post Writing
"Steinbeck is a favorite of mine, going back to high school when I devoured all his books one after another. He had incredible insight into the struggles and heart of the common man, and expressed it so powerfully as you've illustrated here. As…"

LewEllyn Hallett commented on Karl Edwards's blog post First Century Church in the Twenty First, “No Thanks”
"Glimpses into the lives of these men and their daily actions is intriguing, more so to me at this point than word studies et al. However, there are a lot of "if"'s in the post above. We can never know what those books or scrolls were, or if it was a…"

LewEllyn Hallett commented on Karl Edwards's blog post First Century Church in the Twenty First, “No Thanks”
"Wow. You did put effort, study and thought into this topic, Karl. And on that basis alone, I think it deserves respectful response. I do not have time to read the entire second post this morning, but your conclusions are interesting. I do relate to…"

LewEllyn Hallett commented on Karl Edwards's blog post First Century Church in the Twenty First, “No Thanks”
"I feel foolish myself commenting here because I usually avoid posts on Biblical topics--I'm not into Biblical research these days and don't have much to contribute on that score. But on a rare visit to the site, I happened onto Emil's blog where he…"

LewEllyn Hallett commented on Sarah Wilkinson's blog post Writing
"Wonderful insights, Sarah, thanks. As a reader, I tend toward novels for reasons she expressed -- I experience people, places, cultures, conditions unknown to me. And it's not a cerebral learnning; it's the heart, bone, blood, and guts of the…"

LewEllyn Hallett commented on Sarah Wilkinson's blog post On the Road Again!
"WOW. People think I move a lot but now I realize I've been pretty stationary. Now I still have this question, tickling around in my head, because a year is barely time to get half the boxes unpacked and you're off again -- Why? What inspires you to…"

LewEllyn Hallett commented on John Richeson's blog post The Spiritual "Cold Shoulder"
"Thanks, Karen, and my thoughts are indeed here where so many old friends and memories are rekindled. However, I actually can rule out God. That was my point, I guess. I've observed that it's difficult for current Christians to accept that Bible…"

But I am honored to have a friend like you that I must have knew! God bless you. Dennis Madsen ( p.s. can you share"Little Bird" ? )
  • Hi LewEllyn

What a wonderful flashback you sparked! I had completely forgotten about the old Emporia Hall kitchen. That was a joy. Jan and I cherish our memories of you, including the time in the dorm in New Knoxville. God Bless, and give our love to Christopher, too.
  • Hi LewEllyn

Great to hear from you. I remember you very well. I remember you even helped with our wedding.

I enjoyed seeing the family photos you posted.

We live in NC. Debbie and I have a 17 year old son, Josh. I just took Josh on a week long road trip to Michigan and Ohio. Got to introduce him around to several friends from the old days. It was a good time to break out of the routine stuff and talk about a lot of things.

    Give my regards to Christopher.

    Best Regards
    Gerard
  • LewEllyn;

It is you! That is who I thought the only LewEllyn knew would be! How nice to hear from you. You were always a blessing to me and little did I know that I would experience some of the same challenges you did. God is sure loving and faithful to see us through, isn't he? Let's keep in touch. I'd love to hear about what is up with you now days.

    Love,

    Lynn
  • I don't even know how this friends thing works, but I appreciate the vote of confidence. Nice to hear from you. I see you are still writing. I got a web site recently to air my Bible articles. It's been a good motivation to write more. Miniscule audience as far as web sites go, but at least it is the hundreds rather than the dozen or so that meet in our home. I would be honored to have you visit it some time. "The Brown Bible" at http://brownbible.com

  • How are you LwrEllyn - and where are you? You look great! I'd love to reconnect with you :)
  • Howdie! how ya been? My love to Christopher, too! My husband is from New England. My step-daughter lives in Waltham, MA. It's good to see your picture (and a very fine one it is, too!) I am throughly enjoying connecting with everyone here - I have been a member only for a week!
  • Hi LewEllyn,

Rita's novel will be out on August 1, but is available for preorder from online bookstores. I thought you might like to know. Hope all is going well for you.
  • Hi LewEllyn,
I have thoroughly enjoyed reading about you and your family. I remember Christopher from when I was in-residence with the 15th Way Corps. He always seemed to have a cheery smile and a something friendly to say. I am glad that you have found such a good place to live - just right for writing, I should think. (I like to read and write and would love to do freelance work one day.) Your daughters are very pretty - just like you! Have a lovely day.
    Love, Sarah
  • Hi LewEllyn and Christopher! I just found this site yesterday & am happy to reconnect! We (my husband Allan & I) live about 2 hours west of Boston in NY state. Your girls are absolutely gorgeous. I'm happy you two are still living a happy life together. Much love, Tovah
