About Me
I'm married to Christopher Hallett, 15th and 30th Corps, for 22 years and we have 2 girls, Becca 20 and Lily 17. We went through the Corps training with #30 together as a family at Gunnison, 1999-2001 and our assignment was state coordinators for NH/VT/ME. We left that position and the ministry in 2005, but have stayed in Bow, New Hampshire--that makes eight years. We do not participate in any other church, ministry or group
We have two daughters and three cats. My younger daughter, Lily, is an avid rock climber and talented writer and artist. My elder daughter, Becca, is self-starting her modeling career in Boston and enjoying success. We're often in Boston ourselves and think it's a fantastic city.
For myself, I write poetry, fiction and creative nonfiction, as I have time and discipline, and participate in two writers' groups to stay active and connected.
My Interests
Writing and Reading
Gardening
Outdoor activites: walking, skiing, etc.
history, politics and animals
Employment or Career
I am self-employed as a freelance writer and insurance agent. Since coming to New Hampshire, I've also worked fulltime as a non-profit administrator for NH Public Radio and NH Writers' Project.
Music I Like
I like lots of music but could not name any of it -- mostly it's what my daughters put on. I just follow along.
Books I Like
I am a big reader. I love novels and creative nonfiction. I don't do so well with nonfiction that doesn't tell a story. Along those lines I really enjoyed Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert, The Soloist by Steve Lopez, and The Geography of Bliss by Eric Weiner. Too many more favorites to list.
Television I like
The Office is my favorite right now-- I recently watched every show in order through the first 5 seasons so I got the complete stroy line and sequence of events. Not in one day of course. Now I'm waiting for HULU to post all of season 6.
Movies I like
Too many. I was surprised to really like The Hangover. I also like Into the Wild, Little Miss Sunshine, I Robot, 16 Blocks, Lords of Dogtown.....Pulp Fiction is my all time favorite. I can watch comedies like 13 Going on 30, The Devil Wears Prada, Freaky Friday, or My Big Fat Greek Wedding over and over again, especially after a hard day.
Sports Teams I like
The Red Sox and The Patriots of course, though only because I live in New England not because I watch any games.

I will need a pointer to pick me out - but that is a picture on a big rock off our family camp on Beech Hill Pond near Ellsworth Maine - my parents 50th or the golden day!
There are special days in the life span of all of us and so that was - a day when all of us were there - cousins and uncles and brothers and sisters - and yes I am in that picture - a blond guy half way up, It was a good time until my essentric 68 year uncle Tom decided he wanted to skinny dip and nearly put my father into cardiac arrest!
It is very interesting that you listed The Geography of Bliss by Eric Weiner.
Places like Iceland have the happiest people.
I really plan to get that book - it just came out -
I majored in geography at Montana State and I am planning to write a book - a historical novel - centered on The Minnesota Uprising - 1862. - that occurred in south central Minnesota - I am right here so.........
Thanks so kindly for responding,
Matt
I grew up in Dekalb County. N. Druid Hills and Briarcliff Rd. Went to Briarcliff High. I lived in Stone Mountain. In the little city of Pine lake. Do you recall where Rockbridge Rd goes from 45 mph to 35 for a mile than back up to 45? That was Pine Lake. Where was the farm? I love Georgia. Humidity does bother me, it's great for the curls! The crowds were starting to get to me. Especially in Gwinnett Co. I know where Alpharetta is.
I love to read. I am getting inspired to put pen to paper and write my childrens' collection.
30th Corps? I can't even begin to imagine. Bless your heart!

Boy, this is a tough one. I recognize your picture, but I am so sorry I can't put the rest together. Would you be so kind as to refresh it for me? I am assuming we were at HQ together - am I right? Fill me in because I'm drawing a blank. God Bless - Dan
It was nice reading a little of you on your bio.
I have family - cousins that live in New Hampshire and I truly love that area. I am a native New Englander - from my mother's side - my grandfather was a Congregational minister in Providence for 50 years - the big church downtown - Beneficient House.
I go to Maine every summer and remember driving through beautiful New Hamshire.
I too enjoy writing and it is nice to see you here.

I would be happy to help anyway I could. My email is mylegalnurse@yahoo.com I am not familiar with the laws in New Hampshire, but I may be able to give you some general info.
Do you know if they had a boy or a girl, when was it born, and what did they name it?
Love,
dj
Wow...thanks for contacting me. You look wonderful, too....just as I remember you at the Way C. of E...(mid-80's?) I would love to read some of your articles.
Take care,
Rosanne
