About Me

I'm married to Christopher Hallett, 15th and 30th Corps, for 22 years and we have 2 girls, Becca 20 and Lily 17. We went through the Corps training with #30 together as a family at Gunnison, 1999-2001 and our assignment was state coordinators for NH/VT/ME. We left that position and the ministry in 2005, but have stayed in Bow, New Hampshire--that makes eight years. We do not participate in any other church, ministry or group We have two daughters and three cats. My younger daughter, Lily, is an avid rock climber and talented writer and artist. My elder daughter, Becca, is self-starting her modeling career in Boston and enjoying success. We're often in Boston ourselves and think it's a fantastic city. For myself, I write poetry, fiction and creative nonfiction, as I have time and discipline, and participate in two writers' groups to stay active and connected.

My Interests

Writing and Reading Gardening Outdoor activites: walking, skiing, etc. history, politics and animals

Employment or Career

I am self-employed as a freelance writer and insurance agent. Since coming to New Hampshire, I've also worked fulltime as a non-profit administrator for NH Public Radio and NH Writers' Project.

Music I Like

I like lots of music but could not name any of it -- mostly it's what my daughters put on. I just follow along.

Books I Like

I am a big reader. I love novels and creative nonfiction. I don't do so well with nonfiction that doesn't tell a story. Along those lines I really enjoyed Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert, The Soloist by Steve Lopez, and The Geography of Bliss by Eric Weiner. Too many more favorites to list.

Television I like

The Office is my favorite right now-- I recently watched every show in order through the first 5 seasons so I got the complete stroy line and sequence of events. Not in one day of course. Now I'm waiting for HULU to post all of season 6.

Movies I like

Too many. I was surprised to really like The Hangover. I also like Into the Wild, Little Miss Sunshine, I Robot, 16 Blocks, Lords of Dogtown.....Pulp Fiction is my all time favorite. I can watch comedies like 13 Going on 30, The Devil Wears Prada, Freaky Friday, or My Big Fat Greek Wedding over and over again, especially after a hard day.

Sports Teams I like

The Red Sox and The Patriots of course, though only because I live in New England not because I watch any games.

Hi LewEllyn, I am sorry I missed that comp. I was back here in Grand Rapids holding down the fort so my employees could be there. We have a youth club that is very active and this year have a girl at Nationals in Denver.
Lena and I spend alot of time in the Adirondacks as we own property on Owls Head in Keene NY. If you ever are coming out this way again please let me know or if you are in the ADKs,
How old is your daughter? does she climb in a youth division or adult? Tell her someti8me I would love to climb with her -

Hey, How are you all doin'? Sounds like you are successful and enjoying life. Yeah I work at Anna...I am a team leader in the foundry and I really like it, mostly because it has enabled me to provide for my family over the years. I think about you guys whenever I drive through K-ville and see your little house. How's Christopher? Does he still play the guitar? I see you are a writer. Thanks for understanding and caring about how I am. I very blessed you are happy and doing well with your family. There were so many quality people I was blessed to work with I wish I could hold each memory fresh but the years do make some things a little out of focus some times.

I am sure you are a great Exec. Asst. it is all about taking care of people! I feel disorganized most of the time and believe it is because you have so many things thrown at you. It is hard to keep up! You look great. Good to hear from you. All the best to you and Christopher.

Hi LewEllyn. It's wonderful to hear from you. We lived in Vermont for a short while, but I don't remember Bow, New Hampshire. It was beautiful there, but the sunshine of AZ works better for us. It sounds like we still have a lot in common and it sounds like your cheerfulness is still intact. We have a lot to be thankful for!
