  • Hey Leslie,
It is so good to see you again, we are living in the Buckeye state too. Do you remember the work day we spent together with Les Lyons sorting marigold seeds in that little shack at Emporia? I remember being happy talking with you and Les, I think it was the first couple of months in residence, our first year. Joe S. just gave us that huge sack of dried up marigolds and told us to sort them and then we didn't see him the rest of the day. I don't remember what we all talked about, but I remember laughing a lot and feeling relieved that other people understood what we were going through. Love to you, Jacqueline
  • You are still an artist! How perfect for you. You could take poop and make it wonderful. Of course I remember grilling burgers with Dr. I was up on the deck of the triplex all feeling sorry for myself and saw him getting ready to cook, and I thought, hell yeah, that will snap me out of it, and off I went. What I learned is that it is more important to be loving than to be right. Remember Becky Thomas? As we started up she popped up and Dr. explained to us exactly how he wanting everything to roll. Hamburgs on first, WHEN they get flipped put on the buns, then as he said, they are all warm together when you serve them. Will, Becky didn't listen and started putting buns on as soon as Dr. put the meat on. Then yelled at me because I didn't listen to her (she was my boss in the kitchen) She is glaring at me, I am looking at her, and I looked at Dr. He looked at me and when he flipped the burgers I put the buns on as he said. She got hre reproof right there, and later when I asked him for his bouteneire from his last teaching at Gunnison (stones of stone I have) he said, it is more important to be loving than to be right. I did not embarrass her or make her feel stupid, I continued to obey and let God handle it. Dr. said it was the right thing I did. That taught me to listen to God and my own gut than be pressured by others.

Leslie, the worst anyone can say if you ask is no. Big deal, you are no worse for the asking.

Did you ever get that caddy situation straightened out?
  • Traveling through Texas on the way to Lead does not give a good picture of the state. It would be equivalent to traveling to the panhandle of Florida and saying you've been to Florida. I'll have to work on getting you down here for a week. You'll wonder why you are shoveling snow in Ohio.
  • I'm honored and blessed for your message to me. I hope you heard the songs on my page. They are a hoot. Probably more fun to perform than to listen to unless in the wee hours of the night and a number of empty beer bottles on the table. The Word is still my passion. Can't wrap my mind around all the changes at TWI but I have considered trying. For now, I simply witness and teach people how to enjoy reading the Bible. Some eventually decide to manifest. It's my joy.

Some time, we should hook up. Have you been to Texas other than to hitch hike to LEAD? Winters are GREAT!!!! Brisk mornings and warm afternoons. Schlitterbaum is right down the road. In the summer, it is the place to go. (Google it.). The kids would love you for it.
  • Leslie Ann
