  • Hi, Jewel   Thought I would comment on your wall since you are one person who I remember - ha,ha.  If you ever see this say hi back even though I may not ever see it.  Peace out,  Donna

  • Hi Jewel, Thanks for writing back. I may be up there this summer. (Unless my sister meets up with us @ Shasta Lake in Northern CA). What else do you do for excitement?
Do you know or see any believers up there? JoeAnn writes me often. She lives in Burien. Have a Blessed Tremendous Thursday. Merrilee
  • Hey Jewel, How are you and Phil doing? So glad to see your name. My sister still lives in Maple Valley. Nathan and I have been in San Diego for 19 years. Deanna is now 24. Has 2 kids. Jacob 6 and Kaleigh 3. Believe it or not, I had twins in 2005.Thanks to my husbands insistance of never giving up. Jonathan and Gracie are 4. I still sell Real Estate. Fellowship with great believers. Sing and play guitar and piano. Talking about WOW "75 and "76. I just found my two wow brothers on facebook this last weekend. • Hi Jewel,

It's great to hear from you! I haven't made it half way through the member roster yet so I didn't know you were a member. Thanks for droppin' in. What a joy to reconnect with you after all these years! Yeppers, I well remember that lil' room we shared at HQ. I liked Rome City better. Home of the Family Corps and more conducive to family living, IMO. :)

Do you ever hear from Edna? I lost touch with her years ago. How's Kelly? I see you have 4 boys in all. These profiles are great. Help you catch up on 20 plus years of people's lives in about 5 minutes :)

Baton Rouge was fun. Different than anywhere I've ever lived. The Bayou and Cajuns, Justin Wilson humor, oyster po'boys, crawfish etoufee and things I never thought I'd eat but loved! It was a good place to go WOW.

Thanks for the memories. Keep in touch, will ya? Really good to hear from you.

    Love you,

    Kathy
  • Hi Jewel, we actually started our own church based on a much more modern format than "church" as we know it. Here is a place to check out, we know and have visited this church and heard much of the teaching from there over the years. We may not agree with every line of every teaching, BUT see if it's for you?

Let me know what you think if you do visit there. I am going to a men's conference here in September, where the senior Pastor-Kevin Gerald is teaching. Would love to meet up if you come in this direction. I try and go to the conferences in Tacoma, and some of the Christian concerts in Pyallup as well. So will let you know if we ever come in that direction. Love Iain

I have not found a regular Church around here but I am not actively looking either so that is my fault. Life is too busy. Thanks for your hand of friendship. I appreciate it.

  • Hi Jewel, we are almost neighbors, we live in Vancouver, BC. White Rock actually right on the border of WA, we can see WA out our windows. We moved here from Scotland 4yrs ago to start a VERY independent church which is going great. If you are ever up here give us a visit. God Bless Iain
  • Jewel, I think I might have left this on my site instead of yours, If you had already read this forgive me, if you have not here you go,

    Hi Jewel,
I work in Mukilteo, for Mariner High School.
I stumbled into this position, I never really considered Special ED, but suggested in my interview that I had some experience helping my Mom, and they were quick to place me in Special Ed, and even found me a permanent position there. Apparently it is difficult to find people willing to work with these amazing children.

Jewel I am learning so much, and spend so much of my day praying and ministering to them, I mostly just ask God to bless them, and heal them, I am not comfortable walking and in casting out a bunch of devil spirits like I may have been tempted to do at other times in my life.

Now I work at keeping myself well, strong and healthy and go in to bless. My teacher said she hired me because when I walked through the doors to her class as a sub, she noticed I had no fear when it came to working with the most sever children. I would hold wet little hands (I am a germaphob who gags often, but I just keep washing my hands, and carry around hand sanitized, and tissues) change huge 6 feet tall teenage boys, I’ve learn to feed through a tube, and to avoid being hit, and how to use a lift.
There are countless other things I am learning as well.

I no longer know exactly what my future holds, but I continue to attend school, working at a school, occasionally go to church, more often read my Bible, pray everyday, and continually thank God for all his wonderful blessings.

Jewel, I had worried about my boys at times, being a single mother, going to school, so many things I have wanted for them, I was very concerned for their lives and future, then I started working in Special Ed, and WOW, did I get a beautiful wake up call. My boys are healthy, and have a future, and are loved and cared for, all of a sudden I felt like the luckiest women on the planet, and my boys do have a bright and promising future.

Anyway, so nice to hear from you again, I would love to see you and Phil again some time.

I have two boys Noah 12 and Jack 5.
Here is my number, 206-235-2813 my cell, I get out to the general area most weekends to see my parents, they are still in White Center, moms in a nursing home, going down fast, and dad he’s still kicking.

I will always be thankful for you, and all the financial support you gave me in the Way Corps, thanks again.
    God bless you,
Tell me about your job, what ages and levels of disability,
    Love you,

  • Its me again, I guess I knew 'that' about Ken. I remember Leslie Olson asking me about him and commenting on how he was a little different. She had noticed that even his hands were small and dainty and looked like a woman's. So the fact that his loving partner was male isn't a big surprise. Combine that with the fact that his mom killed herself, and the poor guy was gonna have 'issues' when he got older. I remember thinking that he was going to have a tough time when he went out into the world as an adult. When he told us that she killed herself it, we just kind of went back to business as usual and it was never really brought up again. I don't want to sound like Dr. Phil or something but I know some believers in their 40's and 50's that are still having big problems because they were molested as children or Mom was an alcoholic or etc, etc. If he would have brought it up, one us would have probably said, sit through PFAL again and you'll be all better. Yeah right. For that, I aplologize, in absentia, to him. Take care......... Jeff
  • Good to hear from you. Nope no kids. We were going to wait a few years and by then the marriage was going sour and that was that. What did Ken die from? I know it really doesn't matter, but I'm still curious. He didn't seem to be the kind of person that had a lot of risky behaviors. I'm so glad that John came up with this idea. I've 'talked' to more old friends in the last couple days than in the last 20 years. We're a special group of people, non Corps too, but especially Corps people. I think that my fellow Corps people are the only ones that can understand where I'm really coming from, as far as that time in my life. I've gotten a little more comfortable about my life and the decisions I've made, just in the last few days. I like the fact that this site seems to be used mostly for getting in touch with old believer friends and not a big bitch session. But on the flip side, I don't think people should be in denial either. If people have some issues that they need to deal with or talk about it, they should be able to talk with their Corps bros about it. Maybe, private emails would be better for that. Any way........ I'll be in touch, Sometimes I don't even turn on my computer for days, so if I don't answer you in a timely manner, it doesn't mean I'm ignoring you. Thanks for the good memories...........Love, Jeff.......
