About Me
After graduating from the 10th Way Corps in 1982, I married Tricia Strauhal and we moved to Miami, FL. We lived there for 6 years, moved to Portland, OR where we had one wonderful daughter, Anna. Tricia and I divorced in 1990 but remain close friends and actually live near each other just outside Portland, OR. I have one other beautiful daughter from another relationship, Michaela who just turned 10.
My Interests
I travel often, read alot and just completed my second Marathon. I plan on running 3 Marathons in 2008 culminating with the NYC Marathon in November. Priorities are Faith, Family, Friends, Finances and Fitness.
Current Life Motto: Train Hard, Compete, Recover, Repeat.
Employment or Career
I have been very fortunate and worked in the High Tech sector 20+ years for companies such as AT&T, Siebel Systems, SAP and Microsoft. I now trade Stocks, Options and Securities full time for Income, Investment and Fun. Current Work Goal: Several Off-shore Accounts filled with Foreign Currencies.
Music I Like
My iPod has everything from Jeremy Camp to Journey, Rihanna to Enya, Rascal Flatts to Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, U2 to Debussy, Diciple to Dianna Krall, Creed to Norah Jones and anything on Sirius SPA 73. Having an 18 year old daughter helps me stay, well, flexible w/ the music thing.
Books I Like
Bible is still #1; A friend gave me Eat, Pray and Love and it's my current read along with 5 Factor Fitness. I enjoy Dan Brown and Investment books. Freakanomics and the World is Flat are also good reads. My library, like my music collection spans a wide chasm. Also: RON PAUL for PRESIDENT!
Television I like
Fast Money on CNBC of course. Joyce Meyer on DISH, My nephew is on "Back to You" on Fox, Wednesdays. I Tivo Letterman and three Network News programs nightly and CBS Sunday Morning (which is the best show on Network TV). I know, someone pass the no-doze.
Movies I like
Classics: To Kill a Mockingbird; Recent classic: Shawshank Redemption. More recently: Keeping the Faith, In the Shadow of the Moon.

Just an update on the marathon. Wasn't my best time but WAS my best effort....gave it all I had....everything was great for 20 miles and then my legs just gave out on me...had to walk/run/shuffle the last several miles. Everything else was FINE....just couldn't make the legs go so I tried to enjoy the rest of the race to the finish line. I will definitely consider the NY Marathon in November...especially if you are coming out for it to run. It is definitely one you have to run...great crowd support the whole way...lots to see.....the NY bridges....the 5 borroughs, Central Park....I ran it in 2002 and have been a spectator several times too. I always run the MORE Half Marathon in Central Park every year. Only women over 40 can run it.
Keep in touch and keep be updated on your running!
Luv and hugs--
LP

Leslie
Don't know if you remember me--ninth corps Leslie but you might remember my brother Randy Olson (cop) and his wife Lynn from your Corps. Anyhow, I also run marathons...will be running my eighth next weekend in Philadelphia. I have run Maui in '00, NYC, Boston (3X) Philly, Marine Corps D.C and will repeat Philly next Sunday. Fun aren't they???
Just found this site...kinda fun to get in touch with others. So far you are the only other marathoner I know. Guess we are still getting our aerobic points! Are you trying to qualify for Boston? It gets easier as we get older--to qualify that is! In fact I aged up this year (50) and now get 5 more minutes! I will most likely do Boston again this April. I live in CT with Chuck Pavel (11) and our 4 sons.
3 marathons in '08? Which ones are you doing before NY? I usually go to the Expo in NYC and sometimes watch friends who run it. I will make a point to come and see you or maybe will run it again!
Let's stay in touch. I will let you know how Philly goes. I am aiming for around 3:55. Need a 4:05 for Boston.
And by George, Jeff, you look just the same. I heard you were in the Portland area some time back, and, are you still? You have kids there, right? Anyhoo, nice to see you Mr. "Probes". And by the way, have you ever heard from "Kriebs", or "Kubes" or Brian Mansfield? You all were thicker than thieves, if I recall correctly....
Anyhoo, God bless you man,
Kevin
