  • Hi, Hope Sorry for not responding sooner. Thanks for the kind words. The restaurant you spoke of was Asian Gardens on the corner of Pacific and Stockton streets. It has changed many times since the 70s. The Bay Area was a great place to grow up to be a foodie. I remember many times we would gather a group of us to feast on Peking duck, shark fin or bird nest soup, squab, dungeness crab and other Chinese delicatcies. Was the meal you referred to a banquet, dim sum luncheon or late night meal? Glad you are doing well. I am well and enjoying life in the burbs and trying to play golf as much as possible. Love the photos. Caio for now.
  • Hi Hope!

I love your floral pictures. What a bunch of wonderful colors!

Great to see you on this crazy website. Talk about a memory jogger!

    Cheers!
  • I did not know you were from Alameda. Probably don't remember me but I was always a big fan of yours...I was in the college div. when you wer graduating the 7th corps. You actually were the one who inspried me to go in the corps by saying "when are you gong to quit !@@#$% around and go in the corps? Always loved that honesty...I did 13th and never regretted it...Love you Hope Ann (Woodger) Hucke...I grew up in Oakland...Small world...Enormous God..... : )
  • HELLO, BI-LINGUAL FRIEND! I UNDERSTOOD YOUR EVERY WORD.

I'M HONORED TO BE ON YOUR IPOD PLAYLIST! THIS MEANS I'VE MADE THE BIG TIME -- WHEN DEAR ONES CONSIDER MY SONG SOOTHING TO THEIR HEART. THIS IS TRULY MY DREAM COME TRUE ...

DEAR ESPERANZA, IF YOU DON'T MIND GIVING ME YOUR PO BOX, I'LL SEND YOU A BIT OF NOSTALGIA.

    LOVE ALWAYS,
    YOUR ANA-BANANA
  • Hi Hope!
I can't believe I haven't seen you yet... Life just marches on & I do try to keep up, lol. I saw your picture on someone's page & had to write- just to let you know I love you lots & will call you tomorrow. I've been so busy lately with my newest responsibility as the team coordinator for the Plymouth, Whitemarsh, Lafayette Hill & Conshohocken region for Barack Obama '08. We have 16 days left to register voters for the primary & then it will be crazy until the 4/22 primary. Maybe sometime this week we can get together for a bit if possible. What's your schedule like? I miss you & think about you a lot & will call before the weekend's out. Big hugz & please forgive me for disappearing for a while :)
  • Hi Hope : )
I'm sorry it's taken me so long to write back to you, but these last few months have been quite 'something' for me, and I haven't been on my computer much at all. So anyway..... please do remind me of some of our fun "stories", ok? Here's my personal e-mail if it would be best for you to elaborate there - smaynard@maine.rr.com shhhh??? ; )

And yes, I'm back in Maine for now. I've lived elsewhere at various times, but for the last few years it's been the best place for my kids to be growing up. However I pray frequently for God to move me to a warmer climate - these Maine winters are just too long, cold and messy for me! So you live in Philadelphia?? I'm going to be in Montvale, NJ this weekend for the CFF Weekend in the Word with Wayne Clapp and Kevin Guigou.... maybe I'll see you there!
    Love and hugs,
    Sara
  • Hi,Hope,

  • Hi Hope!!! and you are in MY old stopin' grounds!!! i grew up in Pottstown!!....good to hear from you, Hope!
dont have much time right now....how is it there? i don't have any family left in that area....but my brothers are in Harrisburg......OMG i jsut read your profile....My oldest son graduated from St john's in santa fe.....LOVED it.... spend his junior year in annapolis, but loved Santa Fe campus more....the mentality of the teachers there....he was actually going to college at McGill in Montreal....but only because he was in the band "arcade Fire" it was the hardest decision of his life to leave to go to ST John's becasue he KNEW they were going to "make it" and his life's dream is to do music....but he felt it was part of his 'calling'...to study the church father's, the bible, great thinkers without christians telling him what to believe!!! to figure out what HE believed...which we LOVE about him.....ask your son if he knows 'arcade fire'...tim's band is wild light...if you google wild light his my space comes up first and you can hear his music...he sings the 2nd and 4th song....if your son want to e-mail him, i KNOW Tim would be HAPPY to answer any questions....he is a real thinker(way beyond my thoughts)---he was reading Brothers karimozav when he graduated high school so i thought i'd read it too so we could talk about it....hah....i had no idea ......

    ok...really gott'a go....
love you and i STILL "HOPE HE'll BE" back soon!!!! kk
  • Good for you Hope!
Great stuff since we saw each other!! I love you and rejoice with you for the wonderful things that you and God have accomplished. Wow. Way to go!
