About Me

7th Corps Grad. By the hair of my chinny-chin,chin. Have two great kids, Wesley is 22, Kaitlyn is 16. Both are Artists. Wesley is studying to be a Writer, and has applied and will soon start at St. John's in New Mexico, the great books College, the other campus is in Maryland. If anyone knows of this College let me know what you have heard, we are totally in love with it. Kaitlyn is in the Honors Arts program and studies the fine arts. She is looking at RISD and PAFA. After graduation, i took a job at a floral company in Palm Springs, loved it and made it my life's work. After working and managing several Floral Shops, i was hired as General Manager for a large corporate Floral Company. There we produced up to 12-14 weddings and events a weekend. It was a challenge and was blessed by the leadership skills we learned. After making more money for the company in one nights work, than i took home in a month, i said to myself said i, WTF. So as i looked at my mid-life, it was a do this for myself or work for others, i chose to be a complete idiot and start my own company. Dona who is my partner, was my head designer and one of the finest artists i have ever known. She left with me to start this adventure, bless her heart. We took no loans, and started in her basement, and literally the back of my small station wagon. We started at the top here in Philly, poor as church mice, but landed Bloomingdale's as their Wedding and Event florist. Which opened some great doors. I took a part time job with Public Relations as well for about 7 years to keep it together financially. I know, me as a PR rep, imagine that... Our company is boutique styled. Our clients are some of the best who appreciate the arts. So here i am, happy and excited to be alive and realizing all my dreams and living an adventure that is like mr. toad's wild ride... hope this helps you all catch up on me, as usual theres more to the story, but suffice to say, all is well and glad to hear a hoot or holler from those of you that made such a difference in my life...

Travel, fine wines and cheeses, cooking, gardening, the arts, NY Broadway shows,movies, games, antiquing, sailing, the beach with sand in my toes...and a book..what joy. Events..making fun for others. Humor, from life. my kids. my friends. you.

Mysteries. Odd books, keep finding them. no self help, thank you have had enough.

Television I like

Ugly Betty. West Wing, yes still mourning. Antiques Road Show. Project runway, (met Tim Gunn on train home from DC he gave me a business card signed..make it happen! LOVE IT) Iron Chef America, Top Chef. Just got digital, so tons of movies. very happy.

Movies I like

if you know me...Signing in the Rain...any musical. all the Godfathers, and anything gangster...odd comedies..funny girl, elf, anything with Will Farrow, wedding chasers, etc. drama's just no scary movies. too much creepy things in life as is.

Sports Teams I like

PHILLY'S baseball yes was at the game that took us to the playoffs! jealous? WTT Am a sponsor of World Team Tennis here in Philadelphia, great tennis of top 100 seeded players in July on a small court.

It is a blessing to see you ! I have procrastinated putting pictures, profiles and up dates on the sight... (But hope to do it soon!) Living in Stockton and I run a prison out reach fellowship at the base of the Sierra Nevada on the way to Yosemite near Angels Camp.

My Hope... my memoria must be a wasting a way becz I do not remember that insane walk down the white line on Mt Tam...but I'm sure it all happened!!!! My dad would be proud of you today just as we are. I sit in awe when I see your photos and I know the real thing is 100% more... I missed calling you...did too much laundry and homework but will call this weekend...Have you ever seen the "Glory Road"? It's a true story about a West TX college basketball team in the 60's which was the first college to recruit black players...it will make you shout, cheer & cry! Saw it tonite. Talk to you soon

My Hope! As our journeys continue GOD is so gracious to place us together again. Many, many times have I thought about you & wondered....you know how that goes...I will write more soon & probably call you Fri at the shop. I will be going to an elementary school tomorrow to start my pre internship in Spanish but I will be home Fri sewing & studying. I am so elated that you have written me!!!!! by the way, i just looked at your pictures and saw the lilies(?). i grow lots of flowers. i've just been looking at seeds to start for the spring. trying to figure out a combination of dark blue petunias, sky blue annual plumbago and a silver spreading petunia. i think it might work.

hey hope!
i just read that your son is going to st. john's. i didn't know that they had one in new mexico. i had a friend here in blacksburg, virginia (home of virginia tech so we get lots of college people from many places) who went to the st. johns in baltimore. it sounded like the greatest education in the world. he will read the entire scope of western civilization. i envy him. william buckley wrote a column about going to graduation about twenty years ago. he listed the names of the senior theses of the graduates. even he was impressed. if i had the choice, i would go to new mexico rather than baltimore. unless they have changed, the job training will come later, but if he is interested in being a writer, then he probably would prefer the education.

i have great memories of the advanced class in california with joe coulter. glad things have gone well for you. chris and i are doing well. i teach english in the high school here and chris works in a local bank and has done predictably well. i get to be entirely impractical.
