Way Corp group(s) I was in
6th, 15th, 24th (yeah, it's a long story - I'll work on writing it up and post it sometime.)
Where I live
Montreal, Quebec, Canada
Married or Single
Married
About Me
You'll have to ask. Politely. Okay, it doesn't even have to be polite - I'll be happy if someone just asks.
I am married to Kairiin Bright (some of you may know her - she was in the College Division), and we currently live in what we consider to be the best city in Canada - Montreal. Our goal is to get back to the country, which we both love. Our company (CalBright Ventures Inc.) seems to have put us solidly on the road to that.
We coordinate a Way Ministry fellowship in our home. We love the privilege of serving others.
I guess you'd also have to say we have a mixed marriage - I use a Windows computer, Kairiin uses a Macbook Pro - and somehow we manage to get along. Go figure.
My Interests
Extremely varied. Really. Bring up a topic and we'll see if it interests me.
Some specifics - improving my French, computers (I like building them, using them, playing games on them, but I am more of a casual gamer, even though I like online MMOs - and if you know what that means then you're a tech geek like me); music - listening, performing, etc.; movies - and I can include "making" in that now; reading - a lifelong addiction. That should be good for a start. Oh yeah. Better include making smart aleck comments in the list.
Employment or Career
Partner/owner of a small company (CalBright Ventures Inc.). We do what we want to do. You can get some info on our current project at our Blog (listed in the websites section below).
Also, Kairiin and I are partners in a wellness business from Nikken.
Music I Like
Most. These days, there are just too many good musicians/groups to keep up, so I'm always open to suggestions.
Books I Like
Mostly fiction. The Wheel of Time series (by Robert Jordan) has been a great read for us. Sadly, he fell asleep recently with the series unfinished, but the family and editor have found someone to complete it.
Anything by Orson Scott Card - check him out.
We've also developed a taste for www.audible.com and listening to books on my Creative Zen or Kairiin's iPod (I told you we have a mixed marriage).
I'm not including the Bible here, because I don't just "like" the Bible. Like you, it means much more to me than that.
Television I like
Umm - yeah, I'll get back to you on that.
Movies I like
Come on - the list is way to big. However, there are some movies I like that most of you probably have never heard of, but I bet you'd enjoy them. For example:
The Rocket - The Maurice Richard Story
Bon Cop, Bad Cop
Seducing Dr. Lewis (La grande seduction) - and No!, it's not about sex.
Les Invasions Barbares/ The Barbarian Invasions (right - you may have heard of this one if you watch the Oscars)
Passchendaele - the most expensive Canadian movie ever - just out in 2008.
Men with Brooms - a truly Canadian movie; not sure if Americans would get it; some "big city" Canadians don't.
Finally, I have to add "WHMIS - Tell Me Your Story" to the list, as that is the training video we made - 47 minutes long and a blend of documentary and fictional framework. You can see the trailer on our temporary (only about a year now) website below.
I may add more.
Sports Teams I like
Depends on where I'm living. Right now, the Montreal Canadiens for hockey - (sadly, they didn't win the Stanley Cup - in fact they didn't do well at all, but they've still been around longer than other teams!), and still the Winnipeg Blue Bombers for Canadian Football (but I also cheer for the Montreal Alouettes). I have no commitments to any one baseball or basketball team, nor to any NFL or AFL team - so I get to cheer for all of them.

Great to see you are doing so well. Love to your wonderful wife. Not much of a stretch to picture you as a tech geek, lol. I also love Montreal but much prefer Florida winters. Life is grand. Still remember you telling me many moons ago that though you might know where you will be in the future, you always know you'll be fellowshipping somewhere. Many fond memories. If you ever get down this way, look us up, always room for friends. Warm regards, Richard Hodge
Love to you, my friend.
