About Me
Updated December 2019
I have been married to Connie Sandlin (10th Corps) for 37 fabulous years. She has always been so delightful. Connie has truly been God's gift to me and has been such a tender loving mother for our children and an even more amazing grandma (Nana) with six grandchildren. She was born in California but moved to Alaska when very young and was raised there. We lived in Alaska 1985-89 and enjoyed it immensely. It was especially wonderful being close to her parents - in Delta Junction, AK.
Currently I am working for a software company (Cumulus Networks) as the Director of Inside Sales. Connie is working a part time job one day a week and taking care of our two local grandchildren a couple days a week. We continue to have a Bible fellowship each Sunday and remain completely busy and blessed!
We have four children.
Matthew (35) graduated from Appalachian State University in 2007 with a degree in Journalism. He married Abby Bernardini in 2009 (6th Corps parents – Greg & Cindy). They live in Belleville, IL and have three daughters 7, 5, and 1). Matthew works for the new XFL team, the St. Louis BattleHawks as Director of Content and Abby as Executive Assistant and Academic Coordinator at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.
David (33) graduated from Barton College (NC) in 2009 with a double major in Business Administration and Sports Management. He had an awesome career playing basketball there, including winning national championship in 2007 (you can see the end of that championship game in the video section). He received his Masters Degree in Athletic Administration from Ohio University and is now VP of Corporate Partnerships for the Minnesota Timberwolves. David married Megan Van Wagenen in 2016. She is a nurse and now a full time mother of their first child, four months old (our second grandson, born just three days after our first grandson).
Amy (30) graduated from Barton College in 2011 with a nursing degree. She married Nate Bonadies in 2015 (8th Corps parents - Phil and Karen). They have a daughter (3) and that first grandson for us (4 months). They live just minutes away here in Cary, NC. Amy is a Charge Nurse at Wake Med and Nate is a Project Manager for ISAT Seismic Bracing.
Michael (28) graduated from East Carolina University in 2014 and is living close by in the Raleigh area. He is a Lead Development Rep for a software company, Bandwidth.
Our family has certainly been blessed and we are very thankful.
Sports Teams I like
I have always been a sports fan - and even still play some (mostly pick up basketball).

Hello Gary, don't believe we've ever met. Happened to see the posting and pic of u and your beautiful grandchild.Loved your profile, pics and music....Regards, Jerry
Sooo, you havn't had enough of the software business, hunh?
TogetherSoft was a lot of fun. It was very nice to be a part of your team and working with believers with whom I was familiar.
I've landed in Arizona, the land of eternal sunshine, and I have been working as an independent writer and transcriptionist locally for about 6 months. The work seems promising and I certainly enjoy the benefits of self-employment.
I have also enjoyed an electronic association via phone and internet with Bruce Mahone's fellowship in the WashDC area. If I decide to remain here, I intend to start my own fellowship and continue the association.
I look forward to hearing about how God is blessing you, your family and the Raleigh believers.
Love and Blessings,
Rob

So many people have enriched my life and what is great is that I can find them in here and tell them, "THANKS!!!" That of course includes you and Connie. I was Lightbearers in Garden City that year. I remember you came through and had an incredible teaching for us. It was one of the highlights for the year for me. Lynn Perigo was our coordinator. Anyway, Thanks!

P.S. Loved the songs!!!!
I love you....you are a gift to the body of Christ. Indescribably delicious. When I read in your bio that you and Connie have been married for 26 years, it took my breathe away.
( I remember when she didn't want to have anything to do with you....
just kidding).Has it been that long since we launched baseballs at each other on the front lawn in Wichita? Your heart has always filled me with gladness. Oh, the pain of love.
Give Connie a big hug. God bless and love you.
I sent a note to your e-mail, hope you get it!! Loving you, Cindy Young
I live in Australia and didn't go in residence until 1984 with the 15th Way Corps, so I don't expect that you will know me. :-)
However, I am trying to help someone find a fellowship in the Greensboro, NC area. Would it be alright with you if I contacted you directly via your email address on your profile?
Thanks!
Sarah
Nice to see you here! ( I haven't made it all the way through the membership list yet.) It's been a lot of years since the Indiana campus. You have a lovely family and your son's voice is astonishing. It's that good. I enjoyed reading your profile and catching up on your life after all this time.
Containment area for relocated Yankees, huh? LOL! J/K. I've tried to talk my husband into moving to Hillsborough, (or just outside of there in Orange county.) It's my favorite place in all of NC, but so far it's a no go. He's a northern VA boy through and through.
Love to you and yours,
Kathy
