  • It's your sensae. How do you spell that? Give me a call.
    In Christ,

  • Oh, and say "Hi!" to Tom Louth.
  • My goodness - you get around the world! And congratulations on your license. I'm AB4VU now, but my antenna is only a loop in the attic - doesn't get out on HF very well. But, at least, a HF and VHF system is set up.

  • Erich,
It has been awhile since I last wrote. A few more details since last time - Gervais has been taking classes since last fall to be a cartographer! It was a long study and soul-searching, but she is having fun with it and is starting to send out resumes.

Our daughter Pauline (25) is at home with us attending Catholic U. here in D.C. in library science. A good fit for her. And Robert (19) is in his last quarter of his freshman year at Ohio State. He had a lot of fun with his friends for the last three years were have been here in Maryland, but he has been spending this year in some hard, cold realities of college life. Nevertheless, his grades are improving. We're blessed.

As for me, the economic downturn has gotten me on the "less" side of my programming career, so I will see what turns up soon.

Still after these years, I continue Biblical research and as I can I post notes to my web site. Take a look as you can.

After so long a time, looking forward to hearing from you!

    John
  • For a guy that's all wet, you look like you are doing alright. Long time no verbosity. Would like to Connecticut with you again. My e-mail yatsar2@yahoo.com You are the BEST!

  • Erich,
Ah, but Morse Code is a wonderful thing. Sorry the computing world cannot keep up with it. I am slowly learning this site, and even slower to get out replies to the torrent of responses, but I shall. And it's great to see your pictures!

I have been in Maryland, in the greater D.C. area, for three years now, employed as a SAS programmer, which is what I've been doing just about the entire time since leaving International. It has been more or less steady employment.

More details as I get them posted. Thanks for note!

  • Hi Erich,
Thanks for the note. I read it this morning and then posted a picture of RJ (now going by Rex) and a few others. I appreciated your pics. Also, I read Lonnell's comment below; great to see his Good News Day poem again. It has long been one of my favorites. 1.png
  • Hi Erich
Sorry it took me so long to get back to you,
I have been working in vb.net for the past 3 years it's so much better that vb6. You will enjoy the upgrade. Just about to move to VS 2008 looking forward to javescript intellisense :-)
I imagine that the type of code you have is very algorithmic so porting the classes over to .net should be fairly straight forward.
We are quiet abit north of LA (about 5 hours with your foot down) but if ever your business brings you to the bay are let me know it would be fun to meet up.
So if you were the penultimate HQ person to visit Gartmore was it still inhabitted then or just a big empty shell? I remember some very nice times at Gartmore but then we all move on dont we.
    Cheers

    Nice to see you again,
I knew you would end up heavily in computers as you brought one in the corps with you, I remmeber it under your bed (or was it my bed!) and just like my guitar you didnt use it for the first 3 months.
Anyway you sound really laid back and cool - or is this just a cyber image to sell fountains :-)
    Cheers
