  • David, How lovely to hear from you. Teresa and I are SO blessed. As I look back on he road we've traveled it amazes me how He has always been there for us. We are His children and His eyes are always upon us. Jesus reminded us that if He is aware of the bird that falls from the sky, He is even more aware of our situation. The heart of The Father is to lead and to guide us as the Shepherd of Psalms 23. He snt Christ into the world to be for us a tupos of what we must be to this world. I love Phil 3:10,11. This has to be our desire also TO KNOW CHRIST,, (to progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with him) to know the power that is available for all believers to walk in and to demonstrate and to share in the sufferings as we become more shaped into his image. Christ is the image of the Father, achieved because he said I only do what I see my Father do and I only speak what I hear my Father speak. As we become moulded into the Christ image we want to become transformed into, we too must become subject to Christ. We too must we willing to be obedient and to listen for the revelation that comes from Christ. God speaking to us through the spirit of Christ that lives within us. What a challenge is ours every day. Therefore we leave the past behind us (good or bad) and we press in and press toward the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. We have so much to do to be what He wants us to be for this world.

With regards to Hanrik and Val they dont really want contact with "old" believers. Several have tried in the past but they have not received a warm reception. Our contact remains because of family links but the spiritual fellowship is gone. Our hearts cry out to the Father to revive the flame that once grew bright fof Him. Please pray also that God will complete the work He began in their lives.

David I thank God fro the memories we have of times when we laboured for the Lord. I thank God that I am more able, now to minister the Gospel than at any time in my life. We have all received talents from the master who is coming back to see what we did with His talents. Keep on doing what The Lord blessed and annointed you to do knowing that He is the rewarder of those who dilegnetly seek Him and seek to bless Him. I pray some day we can share together ina song here on earth, if not I look forward to singing our love song to The Father and to the darling of heaven our Lord Jesus Christ. God bless you richly, Don
  • God Bless David,
All is well here. Nancy and I are still going strong after all these years. I still play
music on the weekends and occasionally travel. By all means let's keep in touch.

  • David, My Good Fellow,

I too was deeply touched by your comments regarding my comments which touched you as well. I happened to think of a poem that I wrote that touches upon the close relationship that believers can have, even though they may be miles apart. I actually wrote the poem for some believers who were apart of our fellowship in North Carolina, and they moved to Texas, and I wrote to poem for them as they departed.

I wrote to John Richeson today and expressed once again my gratitude to him for setting up this website which has been an extraordinary blessing. I seem to be using the terms "bless" and "blessing" a great deal, so I'd better think of some synonyms. Anyway, the priceless exchange that we just experience is once again proof that this site is a, for want of a better word, blessing.

I trust that you will enjoy the poem, as I have enjoyed our exchange.

    God's best to God's best,

    Lonnell

    Seeds of Friendship

    Let love be without hypocrisy.
Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good.
Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love,
    in honor giving preference to one another;
    Romans 12:9-10

    There is a special place,
a space where warm eyes meet,
    where hearts entwine
    as friends embrace.

    Hand-in-hand,
    we have walked that land
    and glimpsed the vistas
    of God’s plan:
    a foretaste of the place
    where peace unfolds
    and love abounds,
    where golden moments never end.

The seeds of friendship we have sown
shall bloom and abound in our minds
    to offer us fragrant bouquets
to flourish in our garden spot.

Though we travel far from our home,
    distance cannot dissolve the bond:
the love of God that never fails
    has sealed our hearts
    to make us one.

  • David,

I made my previous remarks before scrolling down to see that you had a video of Agape singing the "Fireside Song" that I just alluded to. I was especially touched when I read that the recording was made at PFAL 77. This past Sunday, our daughter Melissa was interviewed on CNN, and she was talking about a book that she had written and which I had the privilege and pleasure of publishing. You may not recall this, but Melissa was born in Muncie, IN, the location of PFAL 77. You may recall that on the "Changed" film Brenda and I bring Melissa into a luncheon when she was just a few hours old. Many times I have commented that Melissa was born with "celebrity status", and so when she appeared on CNN it was not really a great surprise, for she has been blessed with the favor of God upon her life since birth. While listening to the "Fireside Song" my heart was filled with wonderfully warm memories of indescribably great times, such as PFAL 77. Once again I see that all things work together for the good, to them that love God, to them that are the called according to his purpose. I came to your webpage because I tried to chat with you, and I wasn't able to connect somehow. Had we chatted, I probably wouldn't have come to your site and wouldn't have seen the video which touched me very deeply.

I thank God for you and the blessing you have been through your music and through your life.

    God bless,

    Lonnell
  • David,

You old bloke. I tried chatting with you in the chat room on this site, but somehow I wound up talking to myself. I mentioned that it was good to hear from you, and I asked if you had any "fireside chats" lately. I too have fond memories of bygone days along The Way. It sounds like you are living quite an adventurous life in the wild of Tennessee, of all places. How did you happen to wind up there. You weren't trying to take Nashville by storm were you?

We'll have to try that chat stuff again sometime. God bless, my brother.

  • Here is Agape, David, 32 years ago. Enjoy!

  • Aloha Bro! You are so awesome!!! I love you and thank God for you!

  • Aloha David! So awesome to see your brilliant self on here! I still
listen to your rockin' music and that of agape! Just listened to a cd and your song "Our Hearts Knit Together" opened it! I hope you're still using your amazing talents to rock people's worlds!
I love you and thank GOD for YOU! (p.s. you probably don't even remember me.....) beth....
  • David, it's been a long time since we've talked! Your life sounds fantastic! Your hair is so white! You look so distinguished! What kind of art are you creating? We've had some great times. I remember when you came to the house in St. Marys and made us potatoe sandwiches! Haven't had one since! xoxoxo Glenda Sue
  • Hi David Bailey! I didn't realize you were in Tennessee! My husband & I moved to Knoxville in 1991 - so we've been here for a while! I guess you're in the Nashville area? Our son goes to Vanderbilt. How are you doing? I have fond memories of the "Agape days" -- many brothers and sisters that I have loved dearly, and still love. I am so thankful to God for the people who have enriched my life through the years. Iron sharpens iron. God bless you! Barbara
