  • Hey Beth, thanks for the note. Just got off the phone with Scott. We might head out early for New Buffalo, MI in the am. Forecast is for 3 to 5 foot to the south but I think that will be downgraded. Maybe some small waves in the afternoon. We sure have a blast and I call him the Black Lab because he is so stoked like a big old Labrador when he's in the water! And where he ever came up with Kauhuna, I don't now. He and his boys all have these goofy nicknames for each other. What a crew. Thanks again for the post cards too. Sorry I didn't get to see you when you were in town. We keep saying we are going to get Charles out surfing with us. If you happen to be in any antique store, see if they have any old surfing postcards from the 50's to the 70's (cheap). Beth, you don't look any different! Must be the Hawaiian air. What a wonderful place to live. I see Lisa Iozzo from the 9th corps lives in Kona too. She is on this site also. Please send my regards to Charles and I will post more soon. Aloha, Brian
  • Hi Beth.
Yes I do remember you. Thanks so very much for your coments.
Let me know if you need someone to mow your yard over there,
Just send me the plane ticket and I will be there.
Sorry it took so long toy get back with you, but my home computer blew up so I am saving for a new one, so I have my work address here, but I don't abuse it to much.
All my love to you and I pray that God blesses you in a BIG way!

    David M. Bailey
  • Geez Charles. I do not deserve the accolades at all. I am not much of a minister at all these days. But my heart swelled with emotion when reading your words. God bless you and thank you my Brother. I hope I didn't misrepresent myself...

  • Aloha to y'all.

Yeah, not a day goes by that one or more of us wishes we were back on the Big Island. Especially this winter when God made a mockery of all the global-warming idiots. I've shoveled a couple hundred tons of global-warming off my driveway in the last three months.

Since our retirement plans and financial planning is going to rely mostly on luck, I don't know when we will get there, but we plan on spending our sunset years watching the turtles swim as the sun comes over our cups of Kona coffee. I think that was the thing that we both remember the most and enjoyed the most. the rest was great, too, but I could get very used to that early morning ritual. A little Bible, a little praying, a little SIT, a little casual conversation and day planning, some turtles and waves and a whole lot of Kona coffee is about as good as it gets in this life.

Can't wait to see you this summer. We're very proud of Clinton. What a great guy he's turned out to be.

My best to that guy you're sleeping with, and say aloha to Charles.
  • Mahalo Beth,

I hope that is a good word in Hawaiian. Hi from Frank and Joan Pavlica in Williamsburg, Virginia. Where in Hawaii is Kona? Frank and I spent 2 weeks on Kauai 5 years ago. I will try to get some pics on line but as many people have said you look the same - beautiful as ever.It is great to connect again. Joan
