    • Nice song.  Some good points.  What would Jesus do?  He would love first.  The implication is he would love others first before judging others.  What is not said and seldom understood in this world is that Jesus loved his Heavenly Father FIRST.  That's why he could teach that we should not give that which is holy unto the dogs, or cast our pearls before swine.  Of course, that necessitates determining who is a dog and who is a swine.  Those were two of the worst insults in his cutlture.  Jesus' response in the face of evil was "It is written."  His response  to the money changers in the temple was to turn over their tables and chase their animals away.  His response to perhaps his most ardent follower was "Get thee behind me Satan!"  He cautioned his followers early on to beware of the leaven of the Pharisees (cultural elites) and of Herod (government elites), which he defined as hypocricy.  That takes wise discernment and judging by their fruit.  He taught that man does not live by bread alone but by every word of God- not just the warm and fuzzy versus on your refrigerator or a framed needlepoint quotation.

Getting along with others in peace without tyranny in a nation is what America's founding was about.  We are to secure our Creator-endowed rights of religious liberty, plus freeom of expression and consience in this nation.  Cooperation is enhanced by these principles.  However, the founders also taught that freedom is only possible with a virtuous people.  Self-government of a natin is only able to endure if enough of the individual citizens practice self-control, self-government, personal virtue.

      • That's a mouthful!!!!  The character named Jesus in the bible was pretty cool. Love you.

(This is comedy, bro. Don't take offense.)

        • Love the sinner, not the sin!

"And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them."
          Proverbs 8:13 KJV
"The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate."
          • I love you.

  • I don't understand the short video clip, Alan. You might want to repost. But I have another one for you from a true prophet. Maybe this is why The Way tried their best to instill in our brain that, "Christianity is not a Religion". Ha, ha, ha. Semantics. Blah, blah blah. Everyone knows it is.

I believe what they were really going for is "The Way International is not a religion". That would be correct. Some say they were a cult. I am so glad to be free from all religion and cult mentality including their ancient sacred texts, denominations, and buildings that go with it.

It feels good to set ALL of it aside and just have a simple belief in a higher power, period, for the first time in my life. I'm thankful for that every day. Don't be afraid to change!

    • To be absolutely clear, I don't find your posts worthy of a response.  You have abandoned fundamental truths I hold dear.  Our perspectives on life are incompatible.

      • Thats ok Alan. No worries. Nobody says our perspectives or truths need be "compatible" or that you need to reply. We ain't partners or married. LOL. I would say we are acquaintances. I'm not sure we've even met. But you seem like a nice person.

There is an easy way to make a post and then restrict commenting if that helps you. Until then it looks as if commenting is open.

These are some of the reasons why, 16 years ago when I started this site, I originally restricted it to general topics based on our common experiences of The Way Corps and exclude politics and religion including The Way International. It worked for our diverse group. I was right, and it was fun.

Open social media is a war zone today. It can be a train wreck for your mental health too. Especially today!
