Way Corps Reunion - Labor Day Weekend 2010 - Four day Western Caribbean Cruise! - Forum

Did you know we have been planning a Way Corps Reunion in the form of a cruise? Here is a discussion about it from last year in case you missed it. Click here. Hope and I decided on the following for the Way Corps Reunion Cruise 2010: When: September 2nd – 6 (Labor Day weekend) Cruise Line: Carnival Destiny Description: Four day Western Caribbean Cruise Cost: Click here for the costs. Who: Those who participated in The Way Corps program at some point including any of your family who might want to join you. You do not have to be a member of this site to attend. Bring your family or relatives! They will not be held captive by our activities and they will not feel out of place if they have never been in The Way. Our activities will be optional anyway. Itinerary Thursday, September 2nd - Depart from Miami 4:00pm Friday, Septemebr 3rd - Arrive Key West 7:30 am, depart 2:00pm Saturday, Septemebr 4th - Arrive Cozumel, Mexico1:00 pm, depart 10:00pm Sunday, September 5th - “Fun Day” at sea Monday, September 6th - Arrive back in Miami 8:00 am As you can see this format gives us plenty of "self structured" time

which is what we need in order to revisit and catch up with one another after all these years. In addition to other cruise activities, we will be meeting together on several occasions as a group and we will be eating together at all evening meals. Here is a link to a list of those who plan to come to the reunion so far. Here is a link detailing the cost per person. Honestly, I do not have anything planned yet concerning meetings, sharings, entertainment, parties, etc. But with a room full of leaders I am sure we will figure something out. Personally I would love to hear some music and see a couple of good old fashioned slideshows from our thousands of pictures. I will need help obviously and I am open for all suggestions. If you are inspired to do something let me know. Mostly I am excited about the idea of spending a weekend with some of the greatest people I have ever known. Please join us if you can. I know it is not easy for some but in my opinion it will be well worth the effort. Life is short and this is a rare opportunity to see some awesome people together in one place again. Melanie it would be great to see you again and spend some time together. One thing I want us to have a lot of more than anythng else is social time. Not meetings. We'll do both. But as we have all experienced, the time goes by too swiftly and you barely get to reaquaint before it's time to say goodbye.

We have decades of catching up to do.

Well, I would love to go on this cruise - what an absolute bonus. All I can say is that if I lived on the same piece of dirt that the boat is leaving from, I'd book my room today!

One of my questions about a cruise ship was "Can I access the Internet"?

The answer is and abundant yes.... . There is Bow to Stern secure Wireless Internet Access and also an Internet cafe with state of the art equipment in case you do not have your computer with you. Read all about it HERE.

You can access the Internet from literally anywhere on board. Bring your laptops......and bring your pictures!

The Bill thing really made me laugh. Kitty is leaving in two days for a 7 day cruise. I bet she would go again in 2010. I will let her know you asked, that will bless her.

Tallahassee is about 2 and half hours from here. You and Hope will have to plan extra time so you can come here.

I won't book until I get absolute confirmation from you.

I am going with Jack and Tina over to Doug's farm tomorrow. I will get to see my Victor.
I am excited. I will talk to him about the cruise. But I can tell you, that would not be "his thing" ha ha

Our daughter is going to Florida Stae next year in Tallahassee. How far is that from you?
Don't book yet, Shari. Can you wait til end of April? Then we will be 100% confirmed.
I am so happy to hear you are going, Shari. It'll be just like old times in KY hanging out and gettin in a little trouble maybe, ha, ha. (I promise not to get chased by rednbecks.) Can Kitty come too?
Now if we could only talk ole "Bill" into loosening up and joining us....miracles can happen I suppose. Ha.
