Way Corps Reunion 2010

When I started this site less than a year ago, I indicated to the handfull of early friends and members at that time that IF we ever reached 1,000 members I would commit to helping put together a Way Corps Reunion. Today we have 1,100 members and that does not include husbands and wives who share accounts. I did not expect so many to join so quickly. Go figure! I would like to announce that we will have a Way Corps Reunion in 2010. I am not sure where and I am not sure how. But I assure you it will happen one way or another. Plan now! 1. I am sure it will include family and friends of Way Corps alumni. 2. It will not be planned as a teaching or evangelistic event but more social in nature. After all, we have a lot of catching up to do! But within that framework will be plenty of time for heart sharing and networking both publicly and privately, in the general group and in smaller groups. 3. A cruise is a good possibility. We got a taste of what a reunion of this type can be like when we attended the 6th Corps reunion in Chicago last month where they celebrated their 30th year since graduation. While only 60 people attended, it was memorable and moving on many different levels. The planners did a great job and I can only hope to come close to the quality of that event. I have no idea how many from this site may desire to attend, but imagine what it will be like if even a few dozen of us gather somewhere for an extended long weekend? It will be unforgettable in my opinion. I will need help as I am just one person who also happens to work full time and has a family. But I am excited about this. Let's use this thread to discuss. Also feel free to email me privately if you want to. You can also call or text me. John R. jrich7@verizon.net C (813) 404-9795

  • Yes, Kathleen. My thinking exactly. I am working on starting a whole new Forum dedicated to this topic. It will be called Reunion 1010 or something like that. We will install polls there, lists, info, whatever. We are thinking alike. Thanks.
  • OR! We could meet in the middle and get tossed to and frow.
  • What about our European friends! It seems to me that this is all centered around the USA. What about a trip to England, I can carry your bags for a fee! JUST something to think about. David M. Bailey
  • John, I just found out about waycorps.ring.com . Thank you. I love cruises and for such an occasion as this, I know I could talk my anti-cruise wife, Elaine Bigby Landmark, into joining us. I would love to help. If I have a specefic revelation as to how, I will mail you. God bless you and Hope.
  • John,
Is it possible to add a forum, group or whatever to keep a formatted list of names and numbers of those interested in attending, preferred location and dates, length of stay, type of reunion, (cruise, weekend, camping, etc.), contact info plus space for suggestions? When we find out who wants to participate, perhaps we can get a planning committee or two formed. What do you think?
  • Super abundant concept. Tad and Cheryle Geiger willing and able to help and attend.
The world is our oyster. Do not forget Alaskan cruise although cooler.... there is not so much of a
seasonal weather (tropical storms) and trip insurance issues.
KLOVE has done this twice as an on board music festival with good success.

  • God Bless You John:

My best friend work for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines in their corporate offices. I do not know what they would be able to do, but they offer group cruises and can do quite a bit for the group.

They have a new ship that has just arrived in Florida, it is state of the art technology and carries more than 5k passengers.
If you would like to contact him let me know or I could ask him for you and have someone contact you from their offices.

    God Bless! Great Idea!

  • But, Kevin, aren't we still on a two-drink limit? I'm still waiting for my next assignment. Did I miss the boat?
