Looking for some one in the 7th WC

God bless you, good afternoon. I am Eduardo (WC9) from Buenos Aires. Could any of you please help me find one of you 7Th Corps who used to sang with a guitar. Really sorry I do not remember his name. He was really funny and accurate in his songs. I would like to contact him in order to ask him for some of his mp3's in order to share with the people here. Thank you very much. Love in Christ

  • I was also in the 7th Corps with Tom, Dan and Shawn. (Hi Shawn). One of Tom's songs was "Mommas don't let your babies grow up to be homos" sung to the tune of Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings "Mammas dont let your babies grow up to be cowboys". Ha, ha ha ha! We all remember it. How could you not? I cringe thinking about it.

I'm pretty sure you will NOT find that one published anywhere today. My how times have changed! So have we ...hopefully. LOL.

    • God bless you and thank you John.

Yes, sure I remember that song too LOL!... Probably you'd get in trouble just to hum it nowadays.

      Un abrazo.

      Eduardo

  • God bless you and thank you both Shawn and Hank

I know Dan and as a matter of fact I did a tour with Takit to Minneapolis, once, long time ago with Ralph Dubofsky and his family. The one I was looking for definitely is Tom.

Some things seem so far away especially for me being on the other side of the map =)

Again thank you so much for taking care to remember and inform me.

    Un abrazo (a hug)

  • Hello, Eduardo.  To the best of my knowledge, Tom Burke was 4th Way Corps, not 7th.  Perhaps the person you are looking for is Dan Moran, who recorded several albums of Christian Music and was in the band Takit.   I have no contact info for Dan, but I noticed that his wife Randi Moran has a Facebook page.  Perhaps you can send her a private Facebook message.  Hope this helps.

    • Tom and Dan were both 7th Corps, as was I.

Tom did record some songs with Joyful Noise, mostly 4th Corps. You're probably thinking of those.

Glad Tidings was the name of the name of the 7th Corps group that Dan was in.

  • God bless you, good morning and thank God and thank you. Yes, you are right It is amazing. Even in small details like this, it is always grand to see our Father work.

So, you are Cheryl's husband. Please tell her I say hi. It's been so many years since we graduated from the Way Corps. We were so young then!

I have seen your pictures, I think they are from LEAD. Nice. I don't find mines from that time. Too bad.

Well Shawn. Thanks again. My love to you and yours.

  • It's been months since I went to "waycorps.ning.com".

I "just happened" to check in the day after your request.

God doesn't "work in mysterious ways". He works in us.

Glad to be a small part of an answer to prayer,

    Shawn

PS My wife was in the 9th Corps. You might remember her as Cheryl Gallam.

  • God bless you and good morning Shawn. Thank you very much. Yes, think it is Tom.

I will check the site you mentioned.

    Love in Christ
