In Memory of Scott Farris

My friend Gary King informed me that our beloved Scott Farris, who had been in the 13th Corps, passed away after a brave battle against an illness. Gary gave me the following information:

"Our beloved brother in Christ, Scott Farris fell asleep Wednesday, June 15 and is awaiting the return of our lord and savior Jesus Christ.  Scott lovingly served as a son of God and stood faithfully on God’s Word.

Scott was a wonderful husband to his wife Kathy, a caring father to his three children, Katie (15), Will (13), and Anna (10), and will be greatly missed by the entire Body of Christ.  He was a vital member in particular in his care and service to others, not only here in Raleigh but in other areas.  May we each prayerfully consider his family and close loved ones as we walk in love in the Body of Christ.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 18 at the L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545.  In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that memorial contributions be made to the Scott Charles Farris Memorial Fund at 4613 Ellsmere Lane, Raleigh, NC 27604.

The family would also appreciate you sharing any incident or account regarding Scott’s life.  Please send to me in the next few days or whenever you can.  Thanks for your thoughtful consideration.

God bless you abundantly.

In His Love,

Gary (garyrayking@gmail.com)

I Thessalonians 4:16-18:
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  Wherefore comfort one another with these words."
