In Memory of Jorge Dieppa

We have lost a beloved friend and Way corps Alumni, Jorge Dieppa on July 5th.

Here is an online obituary. You can leave comments there if you want. I am sure the family will receive them all. Click Here.

In case the online version may some day be replaced, I have made a downloadable version of Jorge's obituary. Click here.

Kirsten Nigro, the chair of the department of languages and linguistics at UTEP, said Dieppa taught two courses a year in their translation and interpretation program. "A very pleasant, very cordial man with a keen sense of humor ... he had reached the pinnacle of his profession." She also said students respected an appreciated the "maestro Dieppa."

On a personal note, I was in the 7th Corps with Jorge along with hundreds of others in the late 70's. At one time we fellowshipped daily because of our structure. He was a friendly and approachable person and there was always laughter. Jorge was intelligent and educated (graduate of MIT) even before entering the 7th Corps. But you would never know it by the way he was down to earth, at ease and unintimidating with all he came in contact with regardless of their background.

Jorge's wife, Martie Dieppa, has a page on this Way Corps site if you wish to leave a comment: Click here.
