In Memory Of Dave Lutz

Post #24Dave Lutz fell asleep on 7/13/07 and is awaiting the return of our Lord & Savior Jesus ChristI first met and heard Dave sing at Camp Gunnison in 1979 and I was impressed by his God inspired talent.When I got back to HQ, I told V.P. that we should bring Dave to New Knoxville to be a part Of Way Prod. Dave and his lovely wife Terry did come and through the years of Dave's involvement with Way Prod. he gave his all in all. His songs and love for God's people shall forever remain with us.Dave, Doug McMullan, and J.P. were the best of friends and used to get together to pick and sing those good ole'country tunes. I called them the outlaws because those good old boys were certainly not of the law They were free in Christ.In 1996 Dave came to see me when I was living in Cleveland Oh. and stayed at my home for a couple of days. We talked about many things and how the cold wind of change was happening down on the farm in New Knoxville. Soon thereafter Dave decided to move on.The last time I was with Dave was in 2003 at the CFF Reunion. Dave performed several of his wonderful songs that thrilled our hearts. His son David played the fiddle on a few of the tunes.Dave was one of a kind and no one that I know will ever be able to fill his cowboy boots. I sadly miss my wonderful friend.In 2003 Dave made a CD called Taste And See that has Dave playing his guitar to accompany his rich vibrant baritone voice. You may be able to obtain this CD through CFF, or contact me.In closing I will say, Dave, there will come a day we shall be together again and play Cowboys And Christians (title of a song Dave and I wrote}

  • This is a double post. To avoid confusion lets combine the two. I'll lock this thread and let people continue comments in Dave's other thread where we can see his picture and listen to a couple of his songs.

  • Dave was a wonderful man and singer. I will miss him and his music.
  • Ted,

    Do you know where Terri is and how she is doing. She and I worked in the kitchen together at HQ. I knew her better than Dave. She was such a sweetheart and wonderful to work with. I will continue to pray for her and for you.
    Love in him,
    Crae
  • I am so sorry to hear about this. He was as we cowpoking people say, "good people"

    I can't pray for him he's asleep, but I will pray for you Ted, seems you have suffered a great deal of loss lately.

    here's to God doing something extra happy and skipping down the street good for ya!!
    Much love in Christ,
    Janis
  • Thanks for sharing this, Ted ... it warmed my heart to read it and it made me think of all the warm feelings Dave's music always brought to my heart. I still have a tape or two with his rich voice on it.

    It ALSO made me think of the first time I ever heard YOU sing ... I was 17 years old at the Rock of Ages '72 .... "The Comforter Has Come" is still one of my favorite songs!
