  • To Greg and Christine's family,
You are in my thoughts and prayers. Christine was a wonderful woman. I met her in 1984 when she was assigned to Columbia, South Carolina after graduating from the Corps. I always told her that she was sent there just for me. She cared so deeply, loved so freely, and taught so passionately.
    God bless you.

  • I am truly sorrowful over the loss of our beautiful Christine. It was a blessing for me to be in the 12th Corps together. I remember Christine as a wonderfully loving, caring, kind, and fun daughter of God. Twigging together with her was a joy. The hope of Christ's return is really the only true comfort as we live this life, and we'll see her once again in that glorious day. Oh, if it were today!

Greg, it's a joy to remember you and the times we have had playing music for God together. I pray for you that our loving and compassionate Father heals your heart and comforts you. God bless you.................Carmen
  • God Bless You John,
Thank you for your kind words and efforts in keeping as many as come here informed.
Ted Is right about my not checking in often but I will be a lot more from here on. I see the heart and desire of people to keep the family alive and vital. It is a great need for all of us that have known true fellowship. Everything else in this world is empty and meaningless.
    Hold the word high!
    Greg
  • God Bless you Ted, I do check in from time to time but thank you for standing the gap for me. You are a wonderful brother that I hold warmly in my heart as a true friend in the word. Perhaps we can talk soon. Please call when you get a chance, OK? I had no idea that so many people that touched our lives were still out there. It is truely comforting to know.
I will keep you in my prayers as I know Christine did. She loved you and so do I.
I will try to respond to each one that sent condolences and thank you for thinking of making a folder to send to me. I will be most blessed if you are able and I will love you non the less if you can not.
    Your Brother,
    Greg

  • Lonnell, that is awesome and comforting.
  • Dear Greg,

I remember both you and Christine from our Corps years so well. I am terribly sorry for your loss, and for the loss we all suffer when death takes one of us. Lonnell's wonderful poem expresses it all; our hope of living again on that day when death is swallowed up in victory and when corruption shall have put on incorruption. My prayers for your life and my thanksgiving for Christine's are with you.

  • To Greg and the Family of Christine,

I am deeply saddened to hear about Christine's passing. A few months ago she posted a comment to me, and I responded by saying that I remembered that she was such a gentle, warm and caring individual whose radiant face still reflected the goodness of God. She was a genuine person whose life exemplified the love of God.

Earlier today I participated in a funeral service by reading two passages from the New Testament: I Corinthians 15:51-57 and I Thessalonians 4:13-18. I then read an original poem entitled “Until Spring.” This evening I read the news of Christine’s having fallen asleep. For us as believers the Word of God is a wellspring of life and hope. May you draw strength and peace and comfort and all that you need during this time of sorrow. May you also be encouraged and comforted this day. Despite the harsh winter winds and ice and snow, we are assured by the Word of God that, indeed, “Spring is coming.”

    Until Spring

So when this corruptible has put on incorruption,
and this mortal has put on immortality,
then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written,
“Death is swallowed up in victory. O Death,
where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?

    I Corinthians 15:54-55

Whether on earth or shuttled in the sky,
Death snuffs out our candles in devious ways,
For each man must learn to number his days,
Although the soul still probes to fathom why.
The mind made numb with pain can only try
To make sense of the immense ache that stays.
The answer sounds since Adam but still dismays:
It is appointed unto man once to die.
Though grief surrounds us, comfort can be shown.
The sun melts frost with new life as surely
As blossoms will flourish from seeds once sown.
Until Spring, on tip-toe I yearn to see
The day when I shall know as I am known,
When death is swallowed up in victory.

  • Dear, wonderful Greg,
I am so saddened to hear of Christine's death. I know your heart's loss is very great. I'll be praying much for you. Christine was a wonderful woman and her death is very costly in the eyes of the Lord. Thank God for our glorious hope. It's such a comfort to know that her next conscious thought will be Christ's return. And so shall we ever be with the Lord. What a day that will be.
    I love you,
    Marian
