Dear, sweet Betty Bowen fell asleep on January 25, 2013, in central Ohio. Corps and staff who were at international HQ, know her as the head of the kitchen, when the dining room was in the lower level of the BRC. She was very capable of running the food service operations for many years.

She was the mother of Nancy (Mrs Earl Burton, First Corps) of Charlottesville VA , Lynn (Mrs Cliff Adelman) of Westerville OH, and Ruthie Guarini of Chicago. Betty's late husband, Milford, was the coordinator of the Way Magazine publishing and the early collateral reading booklets (remember those?-- careful, you'll date yourself).

May our Father comfort the Bowen family. We, as born-again ones, have a faithful hope, looking forward to forever being with the lord. When Betty fell asleep, she was listening to the song, "Face to face."

A memorial tribute to Betty will be held at the Scriptural Study Center in Columbus, Ohio, on Saturday, February 9, 2013, at 3:00 PM EST.

  • Dear Nancy, Ruthie, Lynn and family:

My prayers are with you in your loss.  Your mother was wonderful.  Thank God for the wonderful hope of His Son's return and sharing all eternity together with the born again ones.  You have all been great examples of God's Word and I am thankful for your lives.

    Lynn (Thomas) Smoke

  • So sorry to hear that Jerry. She was a nice person as was her late husband, Milford. If you have any pictures to post here that would be great.
