  • Oh, Dear. My Corps.

I was in the 10th and Way Bldrs. at HQ with Erich. Erich lugged a footlocker with his computer stuff in it in our first year in res. 1979. We were roomies then and our interim year at HQ. Not many computers in 1979, but he had one.

We started the Fountain in fall 1980. I was the lead engineer on it. Didn't see much of him then....probably writing Code in a little room somewhere.

    Great guy.

  • You are very right about him not getting enough credit John. I don't remember his name ever being mentioned in connection with those fountains.
    • They should be ashamed about that but I am sure they are not. There ought to be a permanent plaque or inscription for all to see who the designer was.

  • For those of you who don't know, Erich designed the beautiful "Fountain of Living Waters" which became the centerpiece of The Way International grounds and still is. It was brilliant considering the technology that existed that long ago. If you ever find yourself driving down Wierwille Road you can see it and always think of Erich. He continued designing beautiful fountains over the years. Here is a link to his company called Atlantic Fountains.

I somehow doubt The Way gives credit to Erich or mentions his name on their centerpiece but I, for one would like to publicly thank him. It has brought peace to many.
