A Friend of The Way Corps Has Died

Jane S. Lynn, wife of John S. Lynn (still living at 92) and my dear mother, fell asleep in the Lord on Saturday, May 9 at nearly 93 years old. Her rich and full life of Christian service included sponsoring about 60 men and women in The Way Corps, and she touched countless people through the decades of her life with her vivacious, fun-loving personality, her love for the Word of God, and her steadfast faith in the heavenly Father she loved. From her Mother/Baby fellowship in Indianapolis to the eleven trips she and Mr. Lynn made to Emporia in 1980-85 for Corps Parent Weekends to the hundreds of times she taught the Word, Mom left a wake of blessings, joy, and inspiration. She is now resting in peace, and the Lord Jesus, who also misses her, is looking forward to waking her up at his appearing. Amen. Thanks for praying for my Dad and our family. In Christ's love,John

  • Bless you, C.H. and Beth. Thanks for your kind words. Dad is still hanging in there, though he misses Mom terribly. He still beats me in gin rummy half the time. But of course my hang time is now a negative number. Was that a non-sequitur?
    Much love!

  • Thanks so much for this, Charles....
Dad is doing very well; he is a trooper.
He's doing far better than I.
    We SO appreciate your prayers.
    God bless you both....
  • Your Mom and Dad helped support Beth and our family's outreach to Greece from 1983-86.

She was so encouraging, laughed easily and was genuinely interested in our lives.

I look forward to seeing her in the clouds and beyond.

Please give our love and thanks to your Dad.

    In hope of Christ's coming,

    C.H.
  • Thanks, Sue. I hope to see you and meet Fotis and your sons. As you train them, keep in mind their need for an ankle-breaking crossover dribble.
    Much love!

  • Hi Joh,

I am sorry to hear about your mom. I remember her from the parents weekends, and remember wishing my parents stood with me at the time. What a blessing and an example of multigenerational faithfulness to God! Now, Fotis and I have the privilege to train our sons, and perhaps they will get to introduce their parents one day to younger believers to help encourage them.

    God bless!

  • Hey Howie (and Terri)-
Bless you! Sorry it took me son long to reply to your kind words. I appreciate your prayers. I miss seeing you guys out there. We'll have to do a weekend before long. I have LOTS of exciting and edifying things to share from the Word, and am getting to as many places as I can inconjunction with my SAT prep business.
    Love to all the gang!
    John
  • Bless you, brother Paul, along with your dear wife and kids. Thanks for your kind words. Mom had a good long run. I pray that you are well, and not eating too many crawdads. I love you and hope to see you again one day.

  • Bless you, Vickie.
You are sweet to think of me, and I sure do appreciate your love and prayers. Where are you guys these days?

  • I am sorry to hear about your mom. I remember meeting your parents years ago. What a blessing they were to so many of us. It meant so much to me when I met someone's parents during those Way Corps years. Know that you, your Dad and your family will be in my prayers.

    God bless you John.
