A Friend of The Way Corps Has Died

Jane S. Lynn, wife of John S. Lynn (still living at 92) and my dear mother, fell asleep in the Lord on Saturday, May 9 at nearly 93 years old. Her rich and full life of Christian service included sponsoring about 60 men and women in The Way Corps, and she touched countless people through the decades of her life with her vivacious, fun-loving personality, her love for the Word of God, and her steadfast faith in the heavenly Father she loved. From her Mother/Baby fellowship in Indianapolis to the eleven trips she and Mr. Lynn made to Emporia in 1980-85 for Corps Parent Weekends to the hundreds of times she taught the Word, Mom left a wake of blessings, joy, and inspiration. She is now resting in peace, and the Lord Jesus, who also misses her, is looking forward to waking her up at his appearing. Amen. Thanks for praying for my Dad and our family. In Christ's love,John

  • Thanks, Vickie....
    'What a Mom!' is right!
Very much appreciate your (and everyone's) prayers for us. Daddy's doing far better than I.......

  • Ha! I can HEAR Mom saying this!!!
It always bothered her that Christian endeavors were often less well done than those of the world. Jesus triumphed over them and made a show of them openly! We are the VICTORS and what we do should bring Him glory and make Him look good, not 2nd rate!!

Thanks for the smiles this brought.
    God bless you,
    Judi Lynn Klug
  • Bless you, dear Sue. Thanks so much for your kind words and sentiments. Mom had a life well lived. God's best to you and yours.
    In Christ's love,

  • I type through tears, Sue. Thank you so much for this. All Mom wanted to do in her life was glorify her Lord and Savior and her Father God. Please pray for Daddy...they were together 71 1/2 years......
  • John & Judi,
I was shocked & saddened to read about your mom--Though saddened by not having her here physically we rejoice knowing we shall all be together when the Lord returns to claim his own--I'm sorry I didn't keep in touch with your folks, and have wonderful memories of your mom & her graciousness when we would visit--In honor of your folks, especially your mom, I gave my daughter for her middle name your last name, & I remember calling your mom & telling her--She was delighted & blessed, but she gave us more than we could ever imagine & for that I will always be thankful & so blessed to have known her--God's Peace be with you & your family--Love & Blessings--Sue & Marty Turner
  • John, I am so sorry to hear, because I know that you miss her.

Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you. We love you and look forward to seeing you in Indiana this summer. My daughter Becky was accepted to IUB, so we will be there to help her get established.

    Take care!

  • And John...just so you know. I added ourt beloved Jane to my In Memoriam list located on the main page with a link to this thread included. See it HERE.

God bless you and your family.
  • To each of you dear brethren who shared words of comfort and kindness with me about my mom, THANK YOU very, very much. I greatly appreciate your taking the time to reach out to me as you did.

We had a wonderful memorial tribute to Mother Sunday evening, with all 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren there. Along with about a dozen of the 150 folks who came, many of us shared stories of experiences with Mom, and I shared some of the Word she loved.

Thank God for Jesus, and thank the Lord that he went the distance for each of us, thus conquering death so that he can one day raise us up to new life with him. What a glorious day that will be, and I'm glad to know that I'll see you there. Amen. I love you.

    Onward and upward,

    John
  • Reading the news about your mom, I think, What an honor and blessing it is to be able to write of one's parent, your Mom, as you and your sister have written about her. To say that you were able to share in fellowship and God's Word with your mother, and to read about her love for God's people --- what joy! She left a heritage of loving, spiritual blessings far beyond what we will ever know.
Thank you for letting us know. Your family is in our prayers.
