6th Corps Reunion In Chicago - July 25-27, 2008

Members of the 6th Corps have been planning a 30th year reunion for the past year via a site called 6thcorpsreunion.com. The 6th Corps Reunion team consists of David Dougherty, Valerie Edwards (Blair), Roy Gotrik, Gary King, Bob Mirabito, Ronnie Sink, Dan Stockemer, Steve Strzepek, Jeff Tyler. Here is an excerpt from their Forum from several months ago: 6th Corps Family Reunion Details Dear 6th Corps Brothers and Sisters: "God bless and hallelujah!! It is time to register for our long anticipated 6th Corps Family Reunion. Thirty years ago the 6th Corps enjoyed a unique experience and developed an intimate community. We are looking forward to sharing in that community once again this summer. The dates of our reunion are July 25-27, 2008. Our heart for the weekend is “To love and appreciate who we were and who we are.” The Reunion Team has been working diligently to bring all the details together and we are ready to start registration. The location for our reunion (after considering the feedback from those who responded to the survey) is the Eaglewood Resort in Itasca, Illinois. It is located just 20 minutes from O’Hare International Airport in Chicago." My wife, Hope, was in the 6th Corps so we are looking forward to attending. I am sure there will be lots of pictures as a result. It will be good to see frends from the past, some of whom we have not seen for decades.

  • I think if you're theme is going to be Rock of Old Agers, maybe you might want to make it Rocking Chairs for Old Age Rockers. This way, pretty much all of us would be included. Then, too, if the kids came, they could rock us around!!

Only kiddin?? It sure looks like everyone had a super wonderful time. One things that doesn't amaze me, since we all are HIS kids, is that no one seems to have changed much at all, even aftr 30 years. My hats off to Hope, the Strzpeks, really everyone for just looking like the bunch of kids that you actually are!

Maybe some of us could endeavor to just get a WayCorp Reunion going for a few years from now for any WayCorp who wants to attend. It would be like a Mini Rock of Ages. If we really want it to happen,I'm sure GOD could work out the details. Any feedback?

Anyway, Congrats all of the 6th Corps who organized, attended, and met new people and friends. What a Body of Christ we have!! I sure am thankful for all of you.

Agape......Laura (P.S. John, I didn't mean to leave you out when I mentioned how great Hope looked. You look darn good too!!
