In Memory of Jane Guthrie (4th Corps)

Another one of our members here passed away last week, our wonderful Jane Guthrie who was in the 4th Corps. Here is a link to Jane's page on this site: Jane Guthrie's Page Among other things, Jane states the following in her profile, which shows her kind heart: "....we treasure the precious friends we knew in the years of our involvement in the Way, and praise Him for all the wonderful people we've met since that time....we most certainly do have a Great Big Wonderful God!!" ".....You are very dear and precious to both myself and to John. Life has not been easy, but I'm glad I'm still on the journey...God Bless You." Our love and condolences to John and the Guthrie family. If you would like to send a note to John: John Gutherie 10523 NE 140th ST Kirkland, WA 98034

  • John, you and Jane were some of Suzi and my closest 4th Corps friends! I am so sad this morning to hear that that has passed now. Jane was such a beautiful gift to God's people; a well of wisdom and of solidarity.

My heart goes out to you and your family. Please let me know if I can be of assistance.
  • John,
My heart, love and prayers go out to you. I can't believe this. I was so blessed to hear from Jane when I first started out on this site last winter. Just want you to know that you will be in my thoughts for a long while now. I know God is a God of great comfort, II Corinthians 1:3-5. I lost my neice to suicide 4 years ago and these verses and God's presence with me were vital to me during that time. I know he will be very personal with you!
    Lovingly,
    Judy Halliday Snyder

  • I received this lovely announcement, and it sure sums up what Jane meant to all that knew her and her family:

    Jane Marie GUTHRIE

    Aug. 21, 1946—Oct. 23, 2008

Beloved Wife, Mother, Sister and great friend to many. Jane Guthrie, born in S.F., CA, having lived for 26 years in Kirkland, WA, passed away after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Spending most of her years as a homemaker, she was a Mama at heart to many and deeply touched the lives of those privileged to know her.

Jane loved the ocean, taking the scenic route, singing and dancing in her kitchen, playing games, laughter and heartfelt conversations. She had a way of making people feel loved and comforted, and she brought God’s love and healing to so many. She was a woman of wisdom and mercy.

We all miss her deeply, but are comforted in knowing she is now in the care of her Lord Jesus. Jane is survived by her husband John; her three daughters, Amy (Phil Sudore), Jessica and Amanda; and two sisters Patricia (Rich) and Judith (Steve).

A Memorial Service will be held on Sat. Nov. 8th, 12:30 pm, at Chapel of the Resurrection Funeral Home (located on the grounds of Cedar Park Church), 16300 – 112th Ave. NE, Bothell, WA 98011.
