BLOGS

Blog or Article?

Blogs often focus on personal opinion, experiences, views, anecdotes or advice. Blogs tend to have a relaxed and conversational feel, such as in storytelling and are generally 300-500 words.

Articles aim to deliver well-researched, informative content with solid evidence to back up the points made.  Articles are usually more formal, organized and frequently range 500-1000 words.

One of the special joys of this season of the year is music that stirs the soul with its glorious melodies and inspirational lyrics. I have compiled a Top Ten List of Christmas Spirituals which has an introductory discussion of spirituals and their origins in the South, and I make a local connection with the Fisk Jubilee Singers. You can read some background information on each of the 10 songs and listen to a performance at the end of each article. • Wow! Thanks, Lonnell, for posting this concise list of the top ten Christmas spirituals along with their history. After reading this and listening to these great songs I have to agree with your # 1 choice, "Go Tell it on the Mountain".

Only Mahalia could sing it this way in her unique manner. What a talent! I could swear Rhoda Wierwille and Dorothy Owens were playing piano and organ in the background. Sounds like them.
