After all the serious bible teaching I have had in my life, I find myself focusing in on compassion.
What I found out is that I really did not have a good understanding practically on how to have compassion.
Of course I have Christ in me and Christ knows how to be compassionate.
The problem I ran into was, what I call, a partiality curse, where there were some folks out their I just could not bring myself to be compassionate to, including members of my own extended family.
So, I delved into the treasures of Christ in me (and delved into a dictionary) and found out one of the definitions of compassion is mercy. Hmmm, mercy. I know what that is-with held judgment.
So when I with held judgment of any kind on the person, compassion took it's place!
Now I'm on the road to being a more compassionate person, just like Jesus Christ, my Lord.

Thank you for this post Donna, good to remember that it's about mercy, and then to be reminded what mercy really means!
Bless you!
I have found that when I spent time to forgive myself (accepting God's forgiveness), I became more forgiving (and compassionate) to others. That's interesting, because we're told to love others as ourselves. How can we love others if we don't love ourselves? Or forgive if we don't fogive ourselves, or be compassionate with others if we're not compassionate with ourselves? Forgiving/loving ourselves is in direct proportion to how much we accept God's love and forgiveness for us. Interestingly, for me, I found that a lot of beliefs were in my HEAD, but not in my HEART!
Anyway, the work of Jesus Christ becomes more and more amazing to me as years go by!
Love you, Donna!
