BLOGS

Blog or Article?

Blogs often focus on personal opinion, experiences, views, anecdotes or advice. Blogs tend to have a relaxed and conversational feel, such as in storytelling and are generally 300-500 words.

Articles aim to deliver well-researched, informative content with solid evidence to back up the points made.  Articles are usually more formal, organized and frequently range 500-1000 words.

This photo is only 800k; I also have one posted on the internet at Photobucket in much higher res (80 MB -- takes much longer to load!). The address for the high res photo is here. The following are closeups so you can see the faces. Please let me know if you know the names of anyone with your Comments, and I'll edit to include the names under each closeup photo. Use descriptions of their clothing if necessary. (I remember Tom Mausolf told us to wear something colorful... it was fall, after all. This accounts for the hats and such.) It was twenty years ago, and my memory is not what it used to be.Left Group:

  • I've also got some group campfire shots and some other shots I haven't got around to blogging, yet. Gonna do one on "people and produce". Coming soon!
  • This would be Fall of 1988. Will post to photos next time I get online. John, if you right-click on any of the photos, above, you can choose "save image as..." and you'll be able to save it to your hard drive. You can also choose "copy photo location" and paste into browser to go to the place I've uploaded it. Glad you like it.
  • What year was that taken, Dan? If you haven't already, can you post that in photos section and can you also email me a copy to john@richeson.org
Thanks for posting these great pix. The group shots are my favorite.
  • Thanks, Janis. Classie is indeed a fine woman. Thanks for adding the info on her story. It was a diverse group, as I'm sure all the Corps' were, and she was precious. Do you know where she is now?
  • I know Classie Smith. F14. She is a fine woman. Lots of things to overcome to make it to that picture.

We were apprentice Corps 85-86. There were over twenty of us. I was going back to finish. One night as we were gathered together, we got the news that Smitty, Classie's husband was dead. We got the word that he was on his way home, he saw a girl getting mugged, and as his manner was, stopped to help her. The mugger shot him right in the heart.

Classy took time to get it together, and she and the kids ended up in the picture you see above. That inspires me. For her to go on and keep the kids going with life after a horrible thing is admirable, and worthy to be noted and followed.

The man behind her in the picture is Manny Ju. I believe, I saw it real fast on the news, I may be wrong, but it looked like his mom talking on the news, if it is Manny was killed 9-11-01 when the towers were hit. Not sure, and trust me I want to be wrong.......maybe I can get a confirmation from someone?

    Janis
