"Hello Roz. I'm sure hearing from me will be a surprise. You look wonderful. Maybe I need to refresh your memory. Kevin Nye and I were best friends in Maryland in 1976, and would go to the Murai's fellowship. I think I kinda dated your sister for a…"

  • Hey Steve! God bless the US Navy SEALs! Shot those deadbeat sonsabitches dead outright. Waytago US Navy! Ought to make you real proud, you Squid you...

Yeah, I'm still a Caveman. I don't tolerate pirates, and people stealing from other people, and, well, fuggem. They threatened with death, but then met the Navy SEALs and got what they threatened. Glad the good guys won this time.

And hey, I guess that nine of the unlicensed sailors on the Maersk Alabama actually went to Piney Point, my alma mater. Anyhoo, I am so thankful that our fellow American, Merchant Marine Richards Phillips, is a free man this Easter Sunday day. What a blessing to his family, and to his crew for which he so selflessly offered his life...
  • Hi Steve,

Good to see that you're still in Charlottesville. It's been about 16 years since we last saw you. My husband took the class there. Your life sounds simple and fulfilling. I'm happy for you!

    God bless,
    Kathy
  • Hey Steve -- Teresa told me you were here! Kevin told me you were in Charlottesville a while back...Glad to see an email...I am amazed - I am an intervention reading teacher for 3rd and 4th grade, and in some circles called the queen of Fundations -- haha...you may kiss my hand -- anyhow - Glad to see you!---Lianne (VanWormer) Pierce
  • Steve,

Your name sounds familiar, but I can't picture you (even though we were in the same corps)... sorry, I'm just an old fart now so I forget things sometimes!! -- you need to post a pic of yourself to help us old folks out.

I have a few shots of the 50's dance you mentioned in another post. (We should exchange pics sometime.) It was held at one end of the warehouse. I don't remember it being for any special event... I think it was just a mixer at the beginning of the year to loosen everyone up.

  • Dearest Bird...

No way do you need to prompt my memory.Your loving heart, enthusiasm, and kindnesses are burned in my memory and bring a smile to my face as I think of you. Plus, dear Kevin just invoked your name in correspondence with me several weeks ago. Brought back memories of such a tender, exhuberant time. You and Kevin both shared a pureness of heart that I have rarely encountered. You are a delightful man and the world is a better place for your big heart (and yes, you dated my sister Elly :) Much aloha, rozie
  • STEVO! Great to hear from you. I remember you well. You were a big gentle soul that everyone loved.
Yah I am somewhat new to this sight also. I am glad for it and it is about time. I think we can all put the past to the pasture and rekindle old friendships. I am happy to see you doing well.
