Hi Ruth, I don't get over to this site very often. I am on FB. My name there is Jacqueline Lee Simpson Howley. I never go by Jackie anymore so a name search using Jackie won't usually find me. How are you doing? Are you in Georgia? How are the kids? Not kids anymore I am sure!
Things are great here. Joanna just graduated college Magna Cum Laude, John-Mark just completed his 2nd year on the Dean's List and will be moving on campus this fall. Mark and I are celebrating our 25 Anniversary and I am now 1 complete year cancer free! God has been so good! Love to you and yours! Jacqueline
Hi Ruth,
Two surgeries, three hospital stays and nine chemos and in just a couple of weeks I will find out how I am doing. Such a blessing of God to have OSU James right in my backyard. I am feeling stronger everyday and getting my vitality back. God is good and I am working at it! Love you, Jacqueline
Hey Ruth,
Nice to hear from you, sorry I didn't reply for a while, I have been battling ovarian cancer since last spring and that has kept me occupied. My doctors think they caught it early and my prognosis is good. I have one more chemo in March and then treatment should be complete. I am feeling better and getting stronger everyday.
I loved viewing your page and seeing your beautiful face again. Much love to you and yours, Jacqueline
Happy Birthday for the 6th February! That is my son, Joshua's birthday too. He went to Movieworld on the Gold Coast (Queensland, Australia) with his dad and his big brother. I heard all the crazy details about the rides last night... Woooo-eee!!! What did you do?
The 6th February is known as Waitangi Day in New Zealand (where my son was born) and is a national public holiday, "Waitangi Day". In 1840 an agreement was made between the British and the Maori people, making New Zealand a part of the British Empire (one way of explaining it!) The town where the document was signed was Waitangi, in the Bay of Islands, a particularly beautiful area in the north of the country.
...So if you're ever in New Zealand for your birthday, you can be sure that the whole nation will be celebrating!!!
Hey Ruth - You probably do not have your birthday feature activated in settings..
Can you check something for me? On the site under you name over to the right...click on SETTINGS. In your profile on that page you should see your birthday listed. Is is listed correctly as Feb. 6th?
Right under that you need to select "Display My Birthday" from the little pull down menu. Is it selected? If it is not checked your birthday will not show up. Be sure to check it.
Let me know if I can be of further help. And by the way. HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
