Susan Youngblood Kerr commented on John Richeson's blog post The Sky is Falling! Or "Mal-Pak" Remnants for Sale?
"I always wondered about all of that also. I lost my Malpack in a move about 1985. It disappeared somewhere. We were actually woken up in the middle of the night and told to get ready. Or maybe it was 5 am. I don't quite recall all of that now."

  • Hi,
This area is tech crazy so it has been cool to become part of all that. My daughter loves going there too. I am getting used to the colors LOL.
    Go Hokie fan,
    Ester
  • Hi, we made it to Florida and am settled in. Will be starting to job hunt soon... Kev is doing great and has made many friends. I miss my other boys and my friends-its been a hard move. I just have to keep looking to God and not the senses! How's things with you, was praying for you guys for the rain from Ike to miss you. You've had enough...I'm thinking about getting certified to teach math 5-9, I only need 7 credits. Its easier here than in Missoui. I also enjoyed spending time with you in Ohio. God's blessings, Lenore
  • Sue,
I just read a note you wrote about going to your Dad's funeral. Girl, you are in my prayers big time. I am so sorry to hear that. You have my prayers and heart - if I can do anything else for you let me know. Praying for Bob also that God just gives you guys great strength.
    love,
    Ray
  • Susan,
Sorry to hear about your house and farm, again. I was thinking about you guys during the flooding this year. That has got to be very stressful - but I know you guys are real strong. Donna and I are doing good. Jessica is in first grade. She broke both arms a couple of weeks ago but it has not slowed her down at all. She is a very active little girl and keeps me young. Give my love to the family.
    God's Blessings.
    Ray
  • Susan,
Good to here from you! I've just recently found this site. It has been a blessing to hear about those we've known and shared so much with in the past. Your life sounds blessed as mine is also. I'm sad to say that Cassady has not chosen the best life so far. My husband and I are raising her two youngest children, which we are truly thrilled to be able to do. You could keep her in your prayers. She could pull it together if she makes up her mind.
Hey, Mary Cathey Pride lives in Asheville, NC. She is still married to Gilbert. Latoya is beautiful and I believe she has 3 children. I may be in touch with her in November and I'll give her your e-mail address. Thanks for asking about our family. Love, Robin Mason
  • Yo!
  • I am sure you are still gorgeous as I remember you and always will be gorgeous.
Even when I go out, I do not want to be a public nuicance by breaking the girls necks turning to look. It comes down to a safety issue. HaHa.
  • I'll check out the hillside group. Girl when you gonna git your kids to put your pics up on this site.
  • Finally got on the DEAR site. I at least partially understand your concerns. We elect representatives to REPRESENT us on the state and fed level. They are supposed to educate themselves on these issues so we don't have to. This is a failure at the repesentative level. You and I have enough to do to support our families. Don't blame you for being pissed.
  • Sorry that it took so long to get back. We've been real busy moving, cleaning up the outside of this place. It's real pretty. IT looks like a lodge- wood interior with 18 ft ceilings, skylights, fireplace. IT hasn't been lived in for 3 years so it need TLC. A friend gave us a years lease on it until we decide what to do after the flood. YEs, the hurricane backed the waters back into our bottoms again. THe hole has not been fixed in the levee. My husband's uncle is rebuilding- already to the driywall and had water in his yard again. IT didn't go in his house though. I Feel sorry for them- almost 80 years old, didn't have flood insurance so they don't have a lot options.
I have a masters in special education from Vanderbilt University, and a Masters in education administration from NORthWest University. SO far I haven't gone into administration. That is because I teach in Iowa and my children attend school in Illinois. SInce they are at the high school age, they are super involved in sports, activities, and I want to be there. IF I was an administrator, I would have to supervise night activities in Iowa. I am waiting for the kids to get out of school to apply. have been a special educator for 25 years- that sounds old!I
