Susan Youngblood Kerr commented on John Richeson's blog post The Sky is Falling! Or "Mal-Pak" Remnants for Sale?
"I always wondered about all of that also. I lost my Malpack in a move about 1985. It disappeared somewhere. We were actually woken up in the middle of the night and told to get ready. Or maybe it was 5 am. I don't quite recall all of that now."

  • Hi Sue,
Yes, I remember you at the conference! You know, every year I say, no I'm not going, and then there is a new neighbor or a new person at church that really wants to go, or someone gives me free tickets, and I end up going. I don't plan on going this year, but, you never know! I need to go to Uganda to check on a children's home that we helped start a year ago. About 30 orphans had gotten kicked out of another orphanage and were begging for help. You end up doing these things when you don't even plan on them. Then about 3 or 4 years ago I was in Busia, Uganda and the village tribal chiefs called me into a meeting and I thought, this is so odd, why are they asking for a meeting with me, I'm a woman. But they heard I was a nurse and asked for medical help. I've just kind of put it on the back burner and pray for it now and then. I'm not 100% sure it's the right time, but I need to go over there and check out the facilities for a medical team. There really are no facilities, but I need to check it out just the same to let people know what they might be getting in for. It's primitive. Anyway, thanks for writing. Let me know how you are doing.
    Love and blessings,
    Vicki
PS: is there a spell check that I am missing?
  • Susan sorry to hear your home was flooded. That would take some adjusting to just hang in there and I'll pray for you guys. Waiting for year is a good thing to readjust. Stay in touch.
  • Susan, how are you doing with posting your familys pictures
  • Sue,
I am so blessed you have help from the Mormans and Salvation Army. What wonderful examples of unconditonal love.
I know you must be a huge blessing to them too!!!!
Please don't give me another thought.
Just take care of you and yours!!
I am just so thankful to have a friend like you!!!
    Warm hugs from Atlanta!

  • Interesting you said you'll get right on that. When that phrase is used here it means when they will get on it meaning as the Aussie phyche is they will follow up when in reality they usually never do or do when they get around to it. Like she''ll be alright meaning it will be ok. They speak english here but it means something entirely different than I understand. On the learning curve I am not there yet . Get your siblings to help you with some pictures and get right on this. He He.
  • Susan, I came to Australia to get married three years ago. I married a pome(prisoner of mother Elizabeth) a british girl. I work at an Engineering firm overhauling aircraft components along with powerheads for the commuter trains here. It's a good job. We'll have to definately catch up some time.. You ever hear from Rachel Mc... from Richmond.
  • Oh ps send some pictures of your family. My personal e-mail address is iamfellowshipper@hotmail.com. I will try to do the same.
  • G'day mate how ya going Susan, I came here to Australia June 2005 to marry. I have a 21 year old son in the Army, an 18 daughter graduating from HS next may and a 15 year old daughter as well living in Eufaula, Oklahoma. I just love the culture here. It is more than I could have ever dreamed. There is a spirit of mateship meaning we all look after one another and just support one another. I enjoy the Eucalyptus trees here as I grew up with them in Ca. as a young lad. All of my kids went through Karate, I only acheived yellow but My son Michael made black. To old for that stuff.
Susan please keep in touch I always wondered how you have been over the years and you sound like you have a quiver full. G'on ya mate
  • Susan, I haven't seen you for years. Sounds like you have a good family with children. Drop me a line when you get time.
  • Sue:

Looks like you made it back from Family Camp in one piece. I didn't know you were in the Way Corps or I would have told you about it. Glad to see you found the site without my help.
