Susan Youngblood Kerr commented on John Richeson's blog post The Sky is Falling! Or "Mal-Pak" Remnants for Sale?
"I always wondered about all of that also. I lost my Malpack in a move about 1985. It disappeared somewhere. We were actually woken up in the middle of the night and told to get ready. Or maybe it was 5 am. I don't quite recall all of that now."

  • I will call you this week or call me. My number is 404 775 9677

  • Hello Sue,
Nice to see you here and catch up on what you are doing. Hope you recover quickly from the flooding, will keep in our prayers. One of my sons studied sustainable agriculture at college and hopes to one day farm in Africa ( where he will be dealing with drought no doubt). So nice to know that we can look to God for all our cares.

    blessings

  • Susan, What is hillsong? Never heard of them.
  • II wear underpants on my head frequently. What's wrong with that?

My masters is in business which opened doors for me at this companyt, but really just goes to show how gullible some people are. I learned 1,000 times more in the Corps than college, at least when it comes to motivating people and getting things done. And since 99% of success in business comes from those two things, I would say that the Corps was a better training ground for business than just about anything else.

Did this latest round of Hurricane Ike dump much on you? We've had flooding in our area, although not at our place since we live on top of a dune with about 100 feet of sand under us.
  • Consider the prayers for you & your family done Sue. I hope I didn't sound insensitive to your plight in my last e-mail. I wouldn't wish that upon anyone. When I re-read it I thought it might have sounded kind of insensitive.
  • I really understand your flood anguish Sue. We have had soooo many people in Cedar Rapids trying to get resetttled. These are epic biblical floods we r talking about.
I see this everyday in my store. Have never seen anything like this in 57 years of living.
Our store in CR is the top store in the company right now. Makes me feel sort of sad, but the local economy still has to keep prospering. What an enigma for a believer, huh?
  • Susan, Great to hear u r doing so wonderful. I've been married for 21 years to Janelle Werning from 14th Corps. and living in Marion, IA since. Have a boy of 20 at U of Northern IA and a girl of 18 in Kirkwood Community College. I sell furniture at Slumberland Furn. and am having a boom time with Midwest floods.
With both kids in college we r going thru some challenging times both financially and emotionally. I'd appreciate some prayer in our direction. Would love to hear from you again Sue. Mike Nissen
  • I am still way too immature for my age. Every time I get a paycheck I still feel it must be for someone else. I'm not old enough to be a marketing director with an MBA, a daughter in college and three others warming up in the bullpen.

I have moved into the music appreciation stage of life. I just provide the means for my kids to express themselves - I just noodle around on the piano once in while.

Sounds like you have a very active and fun church. Front row singers are the backbone of the group. The trick is to just keep singing louder until everyone can hear you clearly.
  • Just back from Dakar west Africa and Cape Town south Africa. So happy to hear all is well.
I'll try to ring you tomorrow.
    Love you!!

  • Yup. That became a cult hit.

    So to speak.

I did it at LEAD and two years later they were still singing it that way in Tinnie. We could have made a great songwriting team: Gilbert & Sullivan, Rodgers & Hammerstein, Lennon & McCartney and Youngblood & McCaw.

It's been a blast re-igniting old friendships on this website. What a classy bunch of people I was blessed to have been a part of. I always felt sort of out of place with so many people who are great examples of genuine believing and commitment to God's Word, and even more so now when I see how marvelous everyone has turned out. I'm a white sock at a tuxedo convention.

Oh well. We're family so you're all stuck with me.
