  • Thank you everyone for all your prayers.
This story is a crazy one of God's deliverance. Last monday when I got the call from my sister I text everyone I could and called even more and e-mailed even more people to pray. My sister Martie did the same. Roberto Martinez forwarded my e-mail all over the world and within a short time we had rallied many many to pray. Many of you prayed with your fellowships as well as your private prayers.
In the meantime my brother-in-law, Sam was rushed to the hospital with an excrutiating headache that when they had done a lumbar puncture and found blood in his spinal fluid, concluded that he had had a stroke and moved him to another hospital. When he arrived at St. Josephs hospital, the second hospital, the neurologist said he had already made rounds and would see him tomorrow.
We waited until Tuesday to find out how he was. By tuesday they discovered that the fluid around his brain was seeping out into his spine. They also discovered that he had viral meningitis. He hadn't had a stroke at all. When they did an MRI they discovered that the fluid was seeping from the place that the other hospital had done the lumbar puncture and that during the first 24 hours he had not been seen, all the fluid had drained from around his brain. Everytime he moved his brain was hitting against his skull. They did a blood patch to fix it. When they told him that all the fluid had drained out, they also told him that his brain had swollen and that it had been drawn down into where the brain stem is. It was beginning to cut off the blood flow to his brain. He should have died. The only care he was getting during that first 24 hour time period was the prayers that we were saying. God saved him when the doctors were neglecting him.
This is the power of prayer. He is fine now and has no residual effects from the problems. God is good. The anti-viral medication worked for the meningits and the swelling on his brain is gone. The blood patch held to retain the fluids around his brain and the fluids are replenished. God is very good to his people when we trust him and pray.
I had to share this story with you. I think it is a wonderful example of the power of prayer.
The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
    Love,
    Judy

I just became a part of this website and I don't have time for it, but here I am writing you and looking for more people !
Remember "GOOOSH"!!!!!!!! Bill and I talk about that & laugh, laugh, laugh. We saw Andrea Jaglowski/Redmond & her family last year when we were in Indiana.
I'm going to have to write more later, just wanted to say hi to you & your hubbie. When I figure out how to put pictures on this, I'll post some.
    God bless........
  • Hey Sue,
Just what was the name of our softball team at Emporia? I remember that one team that we played of all these "older" ladies with hair-do's like the 60's and they kicked our very in shape butts! It's crazy the little memories that pop up from being on this site and seeing names and faces that you remember. So do you sport an accent living in Georgia n'all? I can still see your smiling face, but get a picture up, ok? Take care "slugger"!
  • Merry Christmas, Sue. Have a Happy New Year.
    Love,
    Judy

Someone wrote that Steve Pascal is in the metro Atlanta--maybe near Stone Mountain. Is that near you? I am not that computer literate otherwise I would have found you years ago. Are you good in the computer to use those search engines, yellow pages...or whatever to locate for me Steve Pascal for me? Let me know one way or the other please.
Thanx and remember let's keep in touch ok?
    Luv u,
    PS
I responded about the whereabouts of Lana [Falbo] Ulik.
  • Diane and I are doing fine living in sunny Florida. We produced three wonderful children while we were Country Coordinators in the Dominican Republic...by the way, I am proud to say they are all Dominican Republic nationals, but bonified US citizens with all the rights and privileges of all Americans.
Here’s a littler bit about them. I’ll include their middle names. A little bit about their middle names.
Our daughter’s middle name is our mother’s [both our mothers were named Maria].
Our oldest son’s middle name is named after me.
His first name is out of Mark 7:11. In Lev 1:2 is the word “offering,” but in the Hebrew it is spelled with a k instead of a c as it is in the Greek in Mk 7.
Our youngest son’s middle name is after Diane’s father, Bernard. I named him after Michael Landon, one of the stars of the popular “Bonanza,” “Little House in the Prairie,” and “Highway to Heaven.”
    TAMIKA MARIA
18 yrs old, froshman at Florida Gulf Coast University at Ft. Meyers, 2 hrs south of where we live. She’s a psych major. Her GPA is 3.5 or 3.0. She is very pretty. Her looks must come from her mother, but her character is definately mine. She took dancing lessons and her dancing school put on a show, along with the other theater performance students at one of the local high school’s theater and my daughter did a ballet solo. I was so proud of her. She also can do sign languages. She was a colorguard at her high school and they were #1 in competition, worldwide against other schools and independent performers, bit finshed 3rd on her senior year. She is also a martial artist, kung fu.
    CORBAN ROBERTO
16 yrs old, junior in hs. His hs has a criminal justice academy and of course he’s inrolled in it. He wants to go to law school, but does not yet know what specialty of law he likes although he could be an excellent criminal lawyer, in my opinion. He is an honor roll student with a GPA 4.00. Right now he can get a full academic scholarship to the school of his choice as long as he keeps up that GPA. I would like him to go to Harvard for a law degree from Harvard because is very prestigious and he can get hired in any law firm in the country making top dollar, but Harvard is in Boston, too far from mom and dad. Harvard also offers a barnister program in the law school. A barnister is a lawyer licensed to work anywhere in the world where English is spoken. So even though is is lucrative, it would be hard for me to give up my little boy. It is up to him, but he gotta keep that 4.00 GPA, thaqt is the condition. He plays guitar. Yesterday I drove him to Orlando to join another 3 believers to go play in an asisted living facility. Those old folks loved it and of course all four were great. This is the third time my son plays in public. The first time he played was in school show, but with 10 or 15 other guitarrists. The second time he played it was solo and finally, the asisted living facility “concert.” We talked about Juliard, but music to him will be just a hobby. He wants to get as good as he can, the clincher is in order to be accepted at Juliard, one has to be real good and he’s not good enough for Juliard right now, maybe later...who knows, but I much rather he pursues a law career. He too is a martial artist, kung fu.
    LANDON BERNARD
14 yrs old, 7th grader. He wants to be amovie director. He is also an honor roll student. He plays drums and wants to play drums in the high school band when he starts in 2 yrs. He’s taking lessons from a Juliard grad. He practices 1 ½ hr every day, but lessons are once a week. Interestingly enough, He wants to be a movie director and coincidently, his namesake, Michael Landon was a movie director.
That's all. Keep in touch Sue. You were one of my best friends in residence and would like to rekindle that friendship. The next time I go to Georgia, I'll visit you. My daughter performed at where the Hawks play ball...I forgot the name of the arena. You are only the next state north of me. PLEASE POST A PICTURE. You wer pretty in Emporia and I'm sure you are still pretty. Do not deprive us men of your beauty. Pretty women is one of the great pleasures of life. I want to see what you look like. By the way, I responded your message.
Keep in touch and who knows I may knock on your door.
    My cell phone is 727 244 2934, Diane's is 727 244 2219.
    Luv u,
