About Me
I am doing pretty well, thank God. Life on this earth can be pretty wacky but I am (still) learning to walk better with Him, so I am optimistic about the future. Since I plan to live to about a zillion years old, I have a lot of plans. At this point, I am close to being free from the Mr. Mom role, which has been primary in my world for the last 18-19 years. So I'm excited about the possibilities.
My Interests
Single guy for too long, proud dad of a 21-yr-old daughter I raised myself, having fun in the sun. I want to find someone to share the rest of my life with. There's so much I want to do, but not alone anymore. A dream come true would be to be able to travel to wherever the needs are, as God leads, and to have the joy of helping others a lot more. I've had little tastes of wealth, auto racing, travel, etc. and I like them very much (!), but they do pale in comparison to the most exciting activity, that of being actively In His Service.
Employment or Career
Architect working on becoming financially independent so I can be free (I have some miles to go before I get there).
Music I Like
Everything as long as it's really good... except rap and hip-hop. My favorite is old jazz and big band, like Ella, Satchmo et al. I like Madeleine Peyroux and Sympathique, and sometimes I listen to classical in the car, but I have to admit I that although I like it, I don't know much about it. And then, when the feeling hits, I'll just rock out for a while on some actual modern stuff that my daughter turns me on to.
Books I Like
The Bible, self-improvement, leadership and life-success books, and an enjoyable novel or two now and then. James Lee Burke is pretty good, especially his later stuff.
Television I like
Turner Classic Movies, auto racing, not much else, usually...
Movies I like
Old ones, foreign stuff, and now and then Hollywood actually produces something worth seeing. Frank Capra, Billy Wilder, Bogart, etc. I think my daughter has watched Wuthering Heights and Little Women each about 4,000 times.
Sports Teams I like
Ferrari Formula 1 team ,but most pro sports now seems like big business more than anything, so I tend to gravitate towards more grass-roots stuff. We went to the vintage races on Coronado Island (San Diego), and there one could hang out with everyone from blue collar guys giving it a go in their home-built old Chevys to millionaires with their one-of-a-kind Le Mans classics, and all were friendly and enjoying each other's company. I think a lot of sports are like that now, by which I mean if you look for heart you can find it.

Great to hear from you! Glad you made it to be an architect - seems you were working towards that last time we spoke.
I am still married, two kids in high school. I work for a professional engineering society doing government relations here in DC, and keep busy with our fellowship stuff, as well.
If the Lord tarries, we should try to get together sometime and compare notes.
So what about the box in the basement in Terre Haute?
All the best,
Bruce
i love you so much. i can't tell you how happy i am to see you after all these years
i'm so glad things are looking up
all my love,

Kingman is 3-4 hours northwest of us. It is much closer to Las Vegas than here. But if you ever come out to visit your sister, perhaps we could all have lunch or something!
I just spoke with Steve Muratore on the phone (too many Steve M's, I know!!!!). He lives here in Scottsdale but I never knew it until I found this website, so we're getting together for lunch today.
What you said about the "promises" and "perfect world" really struck a chord with me. My wife left us in 1990 when my daughter was only 2 1/2 yrs old. I thought I was struggling on okay until one day I was sitting in the design studio at school (I'd gone back to college) and just stopped cold. I could not function or do anything, and I suddenly realized I was intensely depressed. I walked over to the college counseling center, as I knew I needed to talk to someone, and the Way stuff had fallen apart (for all of us in that area, anyway), so I told God I needed someone who could really help. I got to talk with a woman who was very sharp. She helped me realize that my view of life was that we should all be able to live in out those promises, and see at least some of the "perfect world" we expected! I think maybe we grew to expect these things in the Way, although some of it is just how I think, because I've always been an idealist and an optimist without really trying. Now, of course, I know life here on this old earth sure ain't gonna be perfect, but we can enjoy and stay above junk a lot.
Thanks for what you said about raising a daughter. I will admit I had a hard time. There are a number of times that I look back on, especially when she was 14-17, with some regret. I know that I missed stuff and didn't protect her or keep her going straight on enough sometimes, and I know a woman probably would've caught those things before it was too late, or at least I think so. I blew it on some stuff, and she suffered. Well, she's pretty obstinate and strong-headed, so that's part of it. Anyway, she's doing a lot better now, and I thank God for that! She'll be 20 in February and wants to move along.
Your daughters look lovely, and I'm really happy that they're doing well. I would like to tell you some other things, but I'll stop for now. Write back, okay?
Well, I know there's a beauty waiting for you out there. All in the right time...
It sounds like you're doing pretty good. Nice to see you...
Love, Lisa
Greetings and great to see you here! I have family in Phoenix and get out there once in a while. You look great and sound happy-That's wonderful!
Lookin' good!! Scottsdale is a beautiful place too! Great to hear from you and getting in touch with folks from 25 years ago. Alot has happened through the years but God's grace still abounds heh? Yeah...4 boys has been quite a ride....Chuck says that I do enough running for the entire family...I say that I started running FAR to get away from all that testosterone.....it was for my survival..and then working in OB with women having babies was another way to balance out my life with the male thing happening at home! They are all as different as could be...they all have their quirks.....and I just hope I didn't ruin them for life cuz they always blame the mother ya know! ha-ha..Let's keep in touch through this site...it's so much fun! i will actually get some pics up of the family...I only had some pictures of me and running friends that were already on my computer...gotta get some off my camera with Chuck and the boys. They range from 6'1--6'5 in height with the little guy (10) showing signs of being bigger than all of them! Don't ask me what I spend on groceries...
