About Me
Life is wonderful! I'm still pretty much Sherry; now a grown-up (?) hippie rebel dancing melody, still a work-in-progress & doing my best to balance this fascinating ride called life. I'm remarried to Joe Milano, a great man with 3 children of his own (that makes 5 with mine- 4 still in the house; ages 25, 19, 18, & 15 yr old twin girls), and we live a very full blessed life in the 'burbs with our 3 dogs. It has been quite an ongoing adventure since I left The Way, as I'm sure it's been for all of us. I've managed to accomplish most of my dreams, faced most of my dragons and have learned to love myself through it all, sometimes the hardest part. Life manages to be constantly unfolding in unexpected directions & bringing many surprises & necessary lessons. Over the years I've always remained in & around the music business, both on-stage & behind the scenes, and have done my best to approach the abilities God has given me with honor & effort as He continues to inspire my word-weaving and music-making. My spiritual path has remained my primary focus, and although my belief system & practices may not fly well with some ex-Way brethren; signs, miracles & wonders still follow me, the light of God still surrounds me and His wisdom guides my way. Maybe the ministry fell into error, deceit & borderline insanity, but I will always credit The Way for not only providing my foundation for truth but for introducing me to a genuine experience of His love with His people. I still smile when I remember how it sounded when we all lifted our voices together to sing and the precious moments & years of fellowship & friendship we shared. I look forward to hearing from those of you who feel moved to contact me, (you know who you are!), and rekindling some of those wonderful friendships. Peace!

I was reading your thoughts about growing with God through all our life's experience. It is pretty awesome how we as a body of believers came together for a time (sort of a spiritual Woodstock) shared experience then God sent us on very uniques paths. I truly believe our generation had such a privilege in learning God's Word and endeavoring to truly live it. I am trying pass this knowledge on to others even in the traditional church. I truly want to make a difference in that way while I am on earth. My wonderful wife Dorothy says Hi!

Wow - a reunion? That would be beyond amazing. Thanks for asking; it's humbling. During the semesters, time is at a high premium at our house, but I don't think that I could stand to be like the duck, the cat, and the dog, and say "Not I, Little Red Hen."
Where did you have in mind? I'd like to suggest some city which serves as an airline hub, for some airline with wide-reaching routes. I've no idea where that might be, but it makes sense for less expensive fares. There may also be a large number of folks still clustered in the midwest, but I'm not sure about that. Perhaps a poll could be taken of those interested, with preferences for who could attend, if it were held in a certain area?
These are just preliminary thoughts. I just checked in for a moment; got to get the kids to bed, and grade about a ton of essays tonight.
Thanks for thinking of this; it's a good idea. There are also people who've hosted reunions of various Corps groups in recent years, who might be able to give you a debriefing about what worked, and what didn't. A weekend at some family camp-type place might be neat; people could walk and talk, and the children could play. Perhaps a boy scout or girl scout camp? Those are sprinkled all over the country, but I'm not really sure whether they're ever available for non-scout meetings.
There might be plenty of folks coming to this site who'd have ideas about exactly where and when, and if memory serves, lots of people here have some no small measure of experience in meeting planning . . ..
I also think that you're a trouble maker!! In a very good way.
Love, Vickie

What a joy to receive a note from you. Thanks for the kind words. I recall the last we saw one another in North Carolina when Brenda and I received our first "personal prophetic word" from Marva Pharis. That life-changing word from the heart of God resonated to the depths of my soul. As Jeremiah declared, it was like fire shut up in my bones and I could not stay. When I think about it, and I often do, I get swept away with emotions--"still crazy after all these years." So much as transpired since then, I scarcely know where to begin.
Lately I have been thinking about my introduction to ministry of The Way International through Power for Abundant Living which occurred 40 years ago. In fact this very month, and most providential I heard from the friend with whom I took the Class when I was in the Army at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. I also came across The Way Corps website on the same day. I have been reflecting with deep gratitude to God for all that has happened over the past forty years. In waxing reflective, I often wax poetic, and here is one of my poems that I think will especially be a blessing to you as a singer and composer. It is the opening poem from a collection I published in 2005 called STONE UPON STONE: PSALMS OF REMEMBRANCE. The piece is entitled "I Sing in My Garden"
I Sing in My Garden
Oh, sing unto the LORD a new song!
Sing to the LORD, all the earth.
Sing to the LORD, bless his name;
Proclaim the good news from day to day.
Psalm 96:1-2
I sing in my garden and reap the good,
The bounty of living sixty-two score years.
Each note seems to evoke a stream of tears
That fall, not because of some somber mood
But flow from a heart filled with gratitude.
The folksong of the farmer thrills my ears
Each time plowing, planting or harvest nears.
I compose my song, having understood
Lyrics I did not know when I was young,
When life was uncertain, my song unsure.
Now from my green garden I garner truth.
A song of conviction flows from my tongue.
I am seasoned and strengthened to endure,
Knowing the best lines are yet to be sung.
Be blessed, my dear sister. May God's love abound toward you and your family.
In Him,
Lonnell
I think Ellen Fowler can help you find Crae R.
God loves you,

Great to hear from you as well. Things are going very well and I'm working in the music biz also. Check out my web site at www.hagerling.com You'll find it right up your alley.
No plans in the makings at this point. I have business friends in Philly and if a conf. is scheduled there I usually go. I'm traveling much less than I did years ago and I'm thankful for that. My girls in CA, my Mom is in FL and so most of my family travel will be west and to my old homestead in FL. BUT...if there is an opportunity, you know I'll be connecting with you and other old friends in the 'hood'. Do you ever get to Dallas? If so, the red carpet is ready to roll.
