Shawn Kelly replied to Eduardo Di Noto's discussion Looking for some one in the 7th WC
"Tom and Dan were both 7th Corps, as was I.
Tom did record some songs with Joyful Noise, mostly 4th Corps. You're probably thinking of those.
Glad Tidings was the name of the name of the 7th Corps group that Dan was in."

I "just happened" to check in the day after your request.
God doesn't "work in mysterious ways". He works in us.
Glad to be a small part of an answer to prayer,

"Hi Cathy,
A lot of years have passed and a lot of "events".
But God is still good. We'll see that in the end.
In the meantime, we need to continue to let Him show us just how good He is before "then".
My memories of my time in the 7th Corps aren't…"

  • thank you shawn. i still love to laugh !!!! that's amazing you remember it !!!! must have been LOUD ! ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
  • Shawn... you may not remember me, but I live in Trailer 18 with you for part of my interim year ... perhaps the reason I remember you MOST is that you let me borrow your car to go to the doctor the Saturday morning after the ROA 1984 ... which probably saved my life. No exaggeration ... I had been very, very sick for that whole week from food poisoning (courtesy of mayo on a WOW burger my friend brought me) ... if I had not made it to the doctor that day, I probably wouldn't be here today....was very dehydrated and weak ... thanks for letting me use your car that morning! (Life is much better now and I have my own car for any trips to the doctor ...and I trust neither of us lives in a trailer OR with about a dozen other people!
  • hi shawn. i think of you kindly and what a wonderful person you are
  • Thank God for that! Love to Cheryl, and, of course, thyself.

  • Hello brother! I am so glad to hear you and yours are doing well. You're welcome, I'm glad I asked you to that event. I pressume these fine looking folks in the picture are your offspring? It is great to connect with all these folks again after so long. I'm also glad to hear about your fellowship there in OH. That seems to have been hard for some to hold onto. God bless.
  • Hey,
tried to reply to your message, I dont know if it worked! anyway, my email is nancy@acnckent.freeserve.co.uk. I dont mind who knows it!!
I've sent the sight info to Evon, hopefully she will show up here sometime. I sure miss you guys, funny isnt it, all those years apart and still you feel so close to my heart...
  • Hi!
(I typed a long response but when I tried to embed a photo it got lost. So I'll try again. )
You saw Evon! If you're in touch with her give her my love. Wer're coming up on 35 years we took the class together. We started 11/19/72 and finished 12/8/72. (No, my memory isn't taht good. I still have that red notebook I used to carry around. I marked the dates in it.) Despite the twist and turns I've taken over the years, God has been faithful.
Brenden is 18 and has a fellowship for the local teens at our house. he's an Eagle Scout and is taking basic classes at Columbus State until he has a better idea what he wants to focus on. Cristin is 16 and goes in for her drivers license soon. (Do they make Nerf cars?8-) We're all blessed and involved with the fellowship here in central Ohio. Tom and Cathy Burke, Wayne Merril and Mike and Lisa Clark started building it in the late 80's. The Word is solid and real and handled honestly and with respect. The people are loving and growing. We're getting a glipse of what the Body of Christ can be when we take our directions fro the head. I work for the city of Columbus doing water treatment, same thing I did on staff only now I just deal with "new" and not "used" water. I've got to go. God Bless, Shawn (I hope this is where I'm supposed to respond.)
  • Shawner - so good to see you again. I saw Evon, in the flesh, last summer in FLA. She is still wonderful. How are you and the kids? How is Ohio? What are you up to these days.
  • Hey Shawn. Welcome. It's been a very long time, eh? How have you been all these years? We sure had an interesting year on Way Builders as maintenance men in 1978 didn't we? Somehow looking back it was a lot of fun in spite of all the long hours that particular year.
