About Me

WOW 1980-81 and 85-86. Way College 1982-83. Staff at Way HQ in IT dept. 1983-85. Way Corp 1985-88. Since then I have continued to study and teach the Word of God. It is my passion. I have lived in eleven different states during my lifetime (WI, MI, IN, MO, CO, KS, OH, NE, IA, PA and VA, in that order.) I love to travel and have been to the Philippines four times and Scotland twice. I met my wife (Hazel) while teaching God's Word at a youth camp in the Philippines. We were married in Dec. 1992 and have three kids: Matthew (1995), Shea (1997) and Shauna (2003). Hazel works in fiscal management.

My Interests

I am family-oriented and spend lots of time with my kids and their activities. As part of that, I have been coaching soccer and basketball since 2001, at the recreational level (I don't get paid). I am district SAA of Toastmasters, an organization that helps you to improve your public speaking skills. I edited a biography book that got published. Most of all, I love to write articles for publication, teach God's Word and minister to the needs of people one-on-one. I am outreach oriented, looking to reconcile lost souls to our Lord Jesus Christ and also have a vision to help Christians to find and claim the ministry work that God has called them to.

Employment or Career

I have been programming computers since graduation from The Way Corps in 1998 and still enjoy it. Currently a software engineer programming in RPG ILE on an iSeries (AS400). Aspiring to work in management, recently I managed some large projects and a department. For the future I am contemplating going into ministry work.

Music I Like

I still enjoy the old 'believer' music like Rick Panyard's "The Rock Band." I just wish I had the old goodies (like Glad Tidings) on CD. I also like some of the new Christian music that is out there. Regarding secular music: I'm having trouble enjoying the new stuff that my kids like, especially the rap music. I prefer the soft rock music of the 1970s, 80s and early 90s. Celine Dion, Fleetwood Mac, James Taylor, Gloria Estefan, Whitney Houston, etc.

Books I Like

My favorite topics are biographies, motivational, leadership, and informational material of all kinds (computers, investing, home improvement, etc.).

Television I like

I watch very little regular TV. Most of it is of such low quality that I don't bother. The comedies aren't funny, the violence turns me off and I have very little patience with commercials. Sports is about all I watch.

Movies I like

Hallmark classics. I like stories that involve a lot of interaction between the characters, showing relationship problems and how they overcome barriers to receive emotional healing and deliverance. The 'blow up the place' and 'shoot the villian' movies don't do much for me. I'll take good acting and a great storyline over special effects any day.

Sports Teams I like

Minnesota Vikings, Indiana Pacers, and Cincinnati Reds, in that order. Locally: Liberty University and VA Tech.

Greetings to you! I don't check this site as often as I should, perhaps, but thank you for the note. You're right! With the overwhelming number of students at the classes (and the passage of a few years!) I remember few of the students. But I'm always blessed when someone tells me they were there. It has happened several times, and I'm pleased to know that folks still remember my being there after all these years.

We're doing fine. We just finished up a week at Pa's Family Camp, where we studied Ephesians. What a joy that was. Vincent's getting ready to go to College, and Dolcie is a Junior in high school. Dave's been busy with work and I've been busy with the kids and my mom, who isn't doing very well and who now lives with us. How are you guys doing? How's Hazel? Where are you living now? Software Engineer makes sense, I think you were the only person with a laptop in the 16th Corps and you actually could type faster than I could write LOL.

Congratulations on 16 years of marriage and the 3 kids! I have two kids of my own (an 18 year old daughter, and a 15 year old Son). I was married for 25 years (you knew Sue in the Corps) but we have been divorced about a year and a half now. But the kids are doing good, and work is going well, and I teach a Bible Study every week at a small store front Church in Manchester NH. Steve & Carol Carey are also involved at the Church.
