About Me
After leaving my staff position at Emporia in 1987, I moved to the Washington DC area. I love it here and work just 3 blocks from the White House at GW Law School. One of my favorite things is to walk around the White House during my lunch hour to pray for our country.
My Interests
Taking pilgrimages to holy places, riding horses, taking walks in the woods, volunteering at the Washington National Cathedral.
In the above photo, I am standing next to one of the Orthodox Monks who lives at St. Catherine's Monastery at the foot Mt. Sinai. I traveled to Sinai in 2006 and again in 2008 to visit the Monastery and climb Mout Sinai. I stayed in the desert with the Bedouins. It was what the Celts call, a "very thin place" (where the veil is thin between this world and the other world).

Howdy. If you want to come to a holy place, come visit Texas:). We have it all. But I prefer the hills. When it gets hot, the rivers were made to cool us. The wind to remind us of Pentecost. And the drought to appreciate the rain. I know we all went through Texas on the way to L.E.A.D. but that was simply to teach us how the West was won. The nicer parts are in the central region. Here in San Antonio, we are too far south for the tornadoes and too far west to worry much about hurricanes. Come on down.
God bless! Nice to see your smiling face again after all these year.
What a blessing to have you there in DC praying for our country. I live in Australia and pray from afar.
Bless, Kathleen

And by the way...a million and one thank you for sponsoring me in the Corps...it was a great experience...and rewarding...and impacted many.
How heartwarming to see your beautiful face and hear from you. Thank you for your kind words. Mutual, my friend, as I recall your wise, calming, and loving ways. Not to mention the requisite Herculean strength as Emporia staff.
I love the poems of Hafiz also. They.transport me. His ecstasy for the beloved--sacred and profane...resonates! And I dig Rumi...Mary Oliver.
If I come east next spring (I want to, I want to, I want to)..or whenever I go, a DC trip is on the itinerary. And you will be a part of it. Much aloha,
